    Build a Pole Building

    The building was very well built. However, I was very disappointed in the concrete floor. The contract called for "saw cuts" to be made in the floor. Instead of pouring the concrete floor, and making the saw cuts a few hours later, or coming back the next, as is customary, the sub-contractor made the saw cuts as the floor was being poured, and then covered up the saw cuts. This was done solely for the convenience of the sub-contractor so he didn't have to wait several hours for the concrete to start to cure or come back the next day, and allowed him to quickly move on to another job. The floor was poured less that a month ago, and is showing "hair line cracks" where the saw cuts were made. I complained to the owner, and he said that's how that particular sub-contractor does it. I had looked at other pole buildings Beachy had done in the area, and all the floors clearly had the customary saw cuts in them. No hair line cracks! I was told I could paint the floor or fill the cracks in with concrete filler! Just what you want to hear after you just spent nearly $5,000.00 for a floor! Also, make sure the estimate you get includes taxes. I was given an estimate, and when I was ready to sign the contract, was told that the guy that did the estimate, did not include taxes! All the other companies I contacted included taxes in their estimates, Just be aware of this. Very pleased with the building, but very dissatisfied with the concrete floor, and the lack of upfront and transparent pricing.
