    Demanded Money for Just a Bid (estimate)

    I did not use Dan Keen Services, Inc., but rather obtained what I thought was a free estimate. Since I went through HomeAdvisor, my credit card number was required to be on file. I was never told there would be a charge to provide an estimate nor did I sign anything. A nice gentleman from Dan Keen Service, Inc. viewed the room I wished to have painted and other items completed. The room is no more than 11x11ft. For paint only the quote was $2,700.00. Clearly, not using Dan Keen Services, Inc. After I notified Dan Keen Service, Inc. I was not using them, I noticed my credit card was charged $125.00. The office staff indicated there would be a charge to provide an estimate and that it was discussed during our initial call. I do not recollect this at all, and again, I did not sign anything or read anything stating I owed $125.00 for Dan Keen Service, Inc. to merely provide an estimate. The gentleman that viewed the room was at my residence no more than 15-20 minutes. This is pretty excessive for just an estimate. OI would not recommend Dan Keen Services, Inc. for this sole purpose, regardless of how great their work product they provide. I do not normally write reviews, I just felt the need in this instances because charging someone for potential business to simply provide an estimate of cost is absurd. I am a business owner and I want the customer’s business, thus, a free estimate is always provided.

    They're straightforward and honest about what you need. My roof leaked in my living room, and they came out and drew up an estimate for me. They didn't try to upsell me or anything. I'll definitely use them again!

    I have no complaints! They showed up to fix my flooding issue less than 2 hours after I called. Dan was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing.
