Danny did several jobs for me while I renovated my home five years ago. The last job, however, I waited four months to get flooring that was supposedly hard to find. I had made a deposit of 50%, about $1900, so I got fairly upset about this delay. When he finally did this last job which was laminate flooring, he did work that I considered unfinished—transition pieces between the entrance and the hall outside (this was my new home in an independent living facility) and to a utility room were missing and the laminate under my cabinets was cut poorly, leaving gaps up to 1/2” wide. No quarter round was laid in that area. I called him repeatedly to do this finishing work but he did not. A repair that was needed to replace laminate due to a water leak happened a year later. The estimate to replace 1/2 of a bedroom floor was over $2500, probably because the facility was going to pay the bill. Without authorization, Danny ordered this “hard to get” flooring which arrived in 10 days. When the facility refused his estimate for everything except his price of $750 for the flooring, Danny got angry and picked up the flooring which he had already delivered. I called Home Depot which was the vendor, got the flooring which Danny had assured me angrily I couldn’t replace, within a week and which cost $182. Five years ago Danny was great, but he had certainly changed. I always paid for the materials myself until the last job when he insisted on the 50% deposit then made me wait for months with excuses blaming the vendor. I hope he has changed.
