    dirt work
    $2,500

I have dealt with Dave Urban for 25 years and 8 different properties. He has done major dirt work grading projects , debris cleanup, stone and dirt deliveries and his work has always been outstanding. We have always operated on a handshake basis and he has consistently completed the jobs on a timely basis and for the amount he quoted. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave's Bobcat Service to anyone !!

    Waterproffing and back filling
    $12,500

If I could place a zero rating as a review, I would not hesitate to do so. Dave Bobcat Services, License number 84247, was hired to do waterproofing and back filling at 1670 Sereno, Los Alamos, NM. There was an understanding in our contract that work would stop at 1670 Sereno If Dave Bobcat Services signed a larger job that he had already bid before taking the job at 1670 Sereno. The understanding was that this big job would take about two months and once completed he would return to finish the job at 1670 Sereno. Here is where the issues started. Dave did some work and asked for 80% payment and even though I disagreed with the 80% completion rate, I decided to pay him based on my General Contractors input. The day after getting paid, Dave Bobcat Services notified me that his large project was signed, and he would need to stop work at 1670 Sereno. This is fine because it was agreed in advance, but what was really nasty was to overcharge me for work not performed and then letting me know he could not return to the site after getting paid. But in my mind I said, oh well, I overpaid him but he will return in two months. Mistake!
After 2.5 month I started writing to this individual in several occasions asking when would he return on site to finish his obligation, but never got a response from him. The GC also contacted this individual several times and did not get an answer either. After several attempts, it was clear that this individual had no intent to come back to finish the job he was hired and which he had overcharged compared to the percentage completed. I then texted him again giving him the last opportunity to make it right and return to finish his obligations or otherwise I would report him to the CID or and take him to court. At that point he contacted my General Contractor alleging that he rather not work with dishonest/unethical people like me. What a shame!!!!

Bottom line, he does a good work according to the General contractor and the architect, but he is highly dishonest and unethical. He has been reported to the CID and I am taking him to court. Meanwhile I hired a different contractor (double paying unfortunately) to finish Dave Bobcast Service work. What a shame!

in the beginning...great. Then he dropped way too much gravel in our driveway. I have called 3x and he keeps saying he will be back to fix it...never comes or calls. He said he was ill so gave him 2 weeks...still no call.
My philosophy is don't mess with me and I will nor mess w/ you. He is messing with us.
