Did heater and water heater repair after Sandy storm. Was prompt and price was fair. Cleaned up well when finished. I would definitely use him again. He saved me from having to replace whole unit.

I called dave to have a new programable thermostat installed in my house. When he arrive, he didn't introduce himself and immediately asked to use my bathroom (I knew who this person was because of his shirt). After the bathroom, he dove right in and tried to replace the working old thermostat. After 30 min of messing around both in the basement and living room, he told me the new programable one I purchased was junk. He then proceeded to tell me to return it and buy one from him. He also told me that I would need to run new wiring in the house for the new thermostat. He also told me that I owed him $90 for the day's work. After I told him I would write a check, he then told me to make it for $96.30 (tax included). Before he left, I decided to make sure everything worked as it did before he got there. Sure enough, not only did the AC not work but the heat didn't work as well. After about another 15 min he managed to get the old thermostat working again. He told me he would follow up in the next few days with a quote to do the job properly. I never received a follow up call or even heard from him again. The sad part about all of this was that the new thermostat was hooked up correctly, it just needed a few minutes to turn on the AC unit.
A few side notes. When he performed work in my basement, I had to provide a flashlight for him and hold it while he worked. I also had to clean up the dirt from his boots from my hard wood floors. If I could give him zero stars, I would.
