If there were a negative star rating that is what I would give this company.
Jeff Lindsey Communities (JLC) has an extremely disorganized pricing option process. We were over 2 months into the process with no idea what the bottom line cost of our home was adding up to. Design center leader was extremely disorganized with no follow through. I would NOT recommend building with this company. We were completely misled which cost us a $25,000 increase in building elsewhere. We should have had a ball park figure 2 weeks in, at which point, we could have either moved forward or terminated if we weren't comfortable with the pricing. Not 2 plus months. Meanwhile, Mr. Lindsey doesn't mind at all as his pockets just got deeper! Side note: if you do any upgrades with JLC as flooring watch out! They tack the price on top of what you already paid for! -

I bought a home from Jeff Lindsey it is a total night mare. My daughter's ceiling leaks. The doors have rotten on the outside. Panels have come off and the plumbing is awful

I own a beautiful, cheaply made home. I love my floor plan and my neighborhood. Unfortunately, they use very poor quality supplies. I have never lived in a home where I can not wipe down the walls with a simple wet sponge. The paint comes off if you try to do this. Also, most of the exterior paint in all of the homes they built has faded in our neighborhood. You should not have to repaint your house after two years of ownership. You can see the nail heads on our front door frame where the paint is breaking down ( under a covered porch). What a shame.

I would definitely not recommend this contractor. I bought a house from Jeff LIndsey and have now lived in it for almost 2 years. They have shoddy construction and do not honor their warranty. Several months ago I contacted them get on with the one year warranty repairs. I now have mud slapped on ceilings and walls all over the house and the painters have refused to paint over these areas as they were not properly prepped. I sent pics as requested by Jeff Lindsey warranty person and I am still waiting. Another JLCommunity in this area has been on TV recently complaining of the same things I am complaining about. Do not buy a home from this builder. Once they have your money, they do not intend to fix anything.

We had the worst customer service experience I have ever had with attempting to purchase a home from David Lindsey Homes.
Ultimately after over three months of stress, anguish, and constant uncertainty, we parted ways. This is, in my humble opinion, a builder that demonstrated he could care less about customers. We would not have accepted this level of service buying a pair of Shoes let alone making the largest purchase of our lives. The neighborhood is Clearview Estates in Newnan. To clarify that there are two builders in the subdivision. We are only speaking of our experience with this particular one. The agent representing the Builder was unprepared and ill-informed. The office person we dealt with was the epitome of Anti-Customer In Action! She informed me that "My square footage was different than their square footage!" That's a good one.
If you attempt to make any small custom changes to selections, electrical, flooring etc be prepared to wait days if not weeks for answers. At some point, we were told this $440K + home was not custom. Watch out for the allowances! The hardwood allowance we were told was $5.25 a sq ft. when in actuality is $3.25 (The other $2 is labor!) When we asked to extend it into the master bedroom it became almost $9 /sq ft for the same $3.25 floors. The tile allowance of $2 will get you junk. The lighting allowance of $2000 is ridiculous and not even remotely possible to do. Carpet allowance is also Minuscule. Make sure to clarify exactly what Granite you will get. It's what they are putting in $200K homes. We were made to feel; like we were bothering them and they were doing us a favor by building our home! I am in the customer service business and I can definitely use this example of how not to take care of a customer. There is one shining example though of how to do things right and that is their superintendent on-site Byron. He is wonderful. My regret is he is not running the show. He should be. We are so happy though to be done with this company, dealing with other Builders since has been a breath of fresh air. -

Experience with Jeff Lindsey Community office and on site staff about problems is extremely frustrating. They do not respond to requests. Office staff was so nasty that I report everything in writing per email so to have a record. They do not respond. In talking to my neighbors, they relate very similar stories. Some gave up getting repairs done under warranty. I have kitchen cabinet that is not level, several crooked AC vents, crookedly installed electric switch plate covers, leak over hot water heater, leak next to shower resulting in damage to drywall and baseboard, damaged trimwork that was painted over, holes in drywall behind refrigerator, aluminum fence not installed two inches off grown (finally adjusted by JLC and now gate not aligned), ragged unfinished drywall under bathroom window, unaligned trimwork on exterior, exposed nails/brads entire length of columns on exterior, rough areas and exposed nailheads on trimwork on interior. This is definitely not an entire list. They spraypaint the exterior as well as the interiors. There is little or no sanding, they just spray paint over rough spots and damaged trimwork. No attention to detail. Dirty footprints in shower that cannot be removed with bleach or any cleaner I have found. They want you to wait till the end of the warranty to have anything fixed and of course then the warranty is no good. I also have a refrigerator and a microwave I have had problems with that Whirlpool says were out of warranty because they were registered a year and a half before I bought this house brand new. Three different appliance warranty companies have tried and failed to repair them and Whirlpool refuses to replace them. BUYER BEWARE. BBB may say that all complaints have been resolved with JLC, but many folks gave up and did not file at all.

As some of the other reviewers have already stated...if negative stars could be given for this terrible home building company, they would get a negative 5 star rating!
After waiting 10 months for the home we contracted Jeff Lindsey Communities to build, THEY canceled our contract using the "disrespectful" clause because at what was supposed to be our final walkthru inspection we were not happy with the crap they were trying to sell us!
So we lost our home that we waited for 10 months to get built, lost the 10 months of appreciation we would have obtained...so that this builder could then turn around and sell this same crappy home for more money to another unsuspecting sucker!
We entered into contract with JLC in April 2021 to build a home on Lot #12 in Bluff Mill Farms in Senoia, Ga for ~$608k! We were told that our home builder, Jack Mapp, was very experienced and one of "the best they have". Well if Jack is the best, I hate to see what the other Jeff Lindsey builders are throwing up!
When we periodically toured the home, we saw so many shoddy workmanship items and what we thought were code violations that we decided that it would be in our best interest to hire a third party home inspector to check those things and to investigate things that we could not. That ended up being the BEST $500 I have EVER spent!
I will even include a link to the building inspector's we received so you can see from a 3rd party's perspective what crappy work Jeff Lindsey does! See inspection report here:

Needless to say, that if any one of you after reading these reviews and seeing the pictures of what this builder calls "quality workmanship" still choose to buy from Jeff Lindsey, then you deserve to get what you get! But I would advise you to seek out a true quality builder and don't make a $608,000 mistake like we almost did!
They are only out to take advantage of this "seller's" market and don't care one iota about you, your family, or your housing needs! You've been warned!
