Dustin started off great in March 2022 - came in, gave a great bid, and repaired a horrible tile job from a previous contractor. His work was excellent - and then we hired him to do additional work - all flooring throughout the house. This took awhile and had a lot of delays but again, it was good work. Then the wheels fell off the truck.
H-e was scheduled to start our Master Bath in 7/2022 - no call, no show and no response for 4 weeks. He called and said he was having some "personal issues" and we were sympathetic - BIG MISTAKE. Cutting to the chase, our Master Bath was STARTED in 10/2022 and he has had excuse after excuse after excuse with a lot of "I promise I will be there" and still not showing up - including today. Here we are at Christmas of 2022 and we have a master bath that we cannot use - the plumbing is not connected to the sinks and the shower is half completed. The only thing that can be used in the Master is the toilet.
We at least did not pay him in full - that is the ONLY saving grace.

We cannot recommend Dustin Davis of Davis Home Improvements LLC. We contacted Dustin for a quote in April 2022. After having Dustin review our job and provide us with a bid for a bathroom remodel, we decided to sign a contract for the work. Dustin's policy is to collect 50% of the total bid price at the signing of the contract (he insists that this is an industry-standard practice). We were uncomfortable providing a payment of $5000 upfront, so Dustin agreed to collect 25% of the bid, over $2000. Dustin then provided us with an estimated start date of late June or early July. We were OK with those dates as many contractors are booked several months out in advance. Dustin's contract that you will sign states that any delay of work, whether at the start of the job or during the job, is not the fault of Davis Home Improvements. After not hearing any updates on the start of our job by the end of June we reached out to Dustin to find out when we could expect him to start. He then informed us that he would not be able to start our job without taking an additional payment of $2000+ dollars. He stated that his other jobs were having problems and without money to keep that work going he would not be able to finish and get to our job. Dustin said that he would be able to start our work in early August. We decided rather than lose out on our original deposit (all deposits are non-refundable as spelled out in Dustin's contract) we would pay the additional amount and accept a later start date. August arrived and once again, Dustin was unable to start our job. He stated that he would not be able to start until the first week in September. We were unhappy with that, but we didn't feel like we had a choice since we had already invested $5000 of "non-refundable" money. We decided to try to work with Dustin as best as possible in order to get the work done for the money we had already spent. We got Dustin to agree to start at the end of August by splitting work with his other ongoing job. He worked slowly, only showing up a few times a week and canceling planned workdays several times on us with some reason why he was unable to work, or with no reason given at all. Our job was progressing though, so we hung in there. Finally, Dustin got to tiling our bathroom floor. We had tile sheets, 12x12 with a pattern. Dustin spent the day laying down the tile on the bathroom, shower floor, and soap dish in the shower. The pattern was completely messed up on the tile on half the floor, the shower pan, and the entire soap dish. Upon confronting Dustin, he claimed there was a "manufacturing issue" with the tile and the pattern didn't match up for that reason. We couldn't understand why he would continue laying tile at all if there was an issue with the pattern. It was at this point that we decided to cut our losses with Dustin and fire him from our job. If you are considering Davis Home Improvements, please do your research and look him up on Washington L&I where you will see that his bond has been sued several times. Davis Home Improvements will give you a bid, have you sign a contract, and pay "non-refundable" money to reserve your spot. Davis Home Improvements can then delay your job indefinitely and if you are unhappy they can walk away with your deposit money. If you decide you do want to get your money's worth, be prepared for many delays and potentially shoddy work.

The man I spoke with was very professional and offered to come take a look and give a bid anyway, even though he wouldn't be able to do the job.

Please do your due diligence prior to hiring this contractor. We have been in litigation with him for almost two years.
Remember that this site rates contractors highly for being licensed, bonded and insured, but this is almost meaningless in the state where he is currently working. The process for legal recourse is extensive and cumbersome.
Review this contractor on the state Labor and Industries site and see the reality for yourself. They have issued nine citations at this point for his shoddy work, all of which remain unpaid. Only one of the lawsuits against his bond relates to our family.
He frequently shuts down business pages once they amass a certain number of negative reviews and starts new ones. Being ripped off was a big misfortune of ours, and many other families across Western Washington, but it does not have to be yours.
