    Home rebuild

FIRST OFF, THIS IS OUR EXPERIENCE. NOT MENT TO BE NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE, JUST OUR FAMILIES EXPERIENCE, MAKE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT.

Our families home burned down in 2018. We started in March of 2019 with Davis homes, it is now November 2023. We have never had a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month warranty walk through. To this day any issue that we've had had been declined without even having a rep out.

DAVIS ONLY BUILT THE SHELL OF THE HOME AND THE CREDITS FOR THEM NOT TO FINISH THE HOME WERE COMICAL.

Over 250k paid for a shell of a home with all of these issues

NOW DAVIS IS MOVING FORWARD WITH FORECLOSING ON OUR HOME DUE TO A $19K MECHANICS LEAN YET OUR HOME HAS ALL THESE ISSUES THEY REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT.

As for their contract, HAVE A LAWYER REVIEW. IN ARBITRATION YOU WILL BE LIMITED TO THE # OF WORDS TO DEFEND YOURSELF. THE CONTRACT ONLY BENEFITS DAVIS AND HANDCUFFS THE HOMEOWNER.

During the entire build it was issue upon issue. Communication was great when they were requesting money, once they received, Communication was HORRIBLE.

It's been over 3 years of fighting. From our basement flooding after they graded our yard, damaging our concrete by driving a tracked bobcat on it while it was less than a week old, to siding not installed properly for expansion now siding is off all over, damaged roof, drywaller caught urinating all over our garage not noticing he was on camera, to gutters that don't drain, drain pipe running up hill, ripping out our french drains and not replacing, pool lines hit and not fixed, the list is never ending.

WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH????? TAKE IT ALL DAVIS HOMES. WE LOST IT ALL ONCE IN A FIRE, NOW TAKE IT AGAIN DAVIS.

IF I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN DEALING WITH OUR HOUSE BURNING DOWN OR DEAL WITH DAVIS HOMES AGAIN, I'D CHOOSE DEALING WITH OUR HOUSE BURNING DOWN 1000 TIMES OVER.

    THIS IS OUR STORY

IF ANYONE WANTS TO HEAR MORE ABOUT MY STORY, NOT SLANDER, JUST THE FACTS OF OUR STORY IM HERE TO SHARE IT. I KNOW WE ARE NOT ALONE. IM NOT HERE TO HIDE. IM WANT MY FAMILY TO BE ABLE TO MOVE ON, BUT DAVIS WILL NOT STOP. ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS A CONTRACT, NOT WHATS RIGHT. TAKE IT ALL.

    Sincerely

    DOMINIC CAHOY-WILLIAMSON

Unfortunately we had the same experience as everyone above. John will promise you everything and deliver none of it. Expect to take YEARS, not months, to build your home. We continually find mistakes in the home and they won't address them even though they are clearly construction defects. They blame supply chain issues for EVERYTHING and will try and force you to close without things that a home needs.

If you build with Davis, expect it to take YEARS and if you're experience was like ours, spend about 100-150k OVER your contract price.

And if you are wondering why their reviews are so high - they have a stipulation in the contract that they are allowed to sue you if you "cast them in a negative light"

Worse experience ever!! John C lied to us so many times. Refused to give me the contract 3x then after 6 months i finally got it when my driveway was left off and he told me to read my contract i had to pay for it . He stated they did forget but since it was in site costs he would not help fix the problem. He promised us so much but since he said it verbally what he does is he just ignores your texts and emails. His boss ignored the email also about the closest issue etc... I would never build with them again and i just want to warn people. Two weeks before close they also sent us a letter saying we owed them thousands of dollars and told me to refer to my contract. I guess if we didn't build within 3 months they could charge us more money. The crazy thing is they didn't give me my contract for 6 months. I feel this is very dishonest. i even told John's boss that maybe you want him to not give the contract to people because it wasn't our fault they didnt build in 3 months it was all DAvis. We were ready to go on month 1 . John told us they needed two months to get permits but come to find out they didn't even get permits for 6 months. They are very dishonest and they don't care about customer service. Two days before we moved in a contracter drove thru our new seeded lawn and Ashley placed the blame on me and my husband. Yes i drove my Prius thru the hard work me and my husband did. She wouldn't say i'm sorry or anything just that they didn't do it.

Wish I could rate zero. Horrible customer service. We lost $1000 in earnest money they told us was buildable and wasn’t. I had to fight with them for 4 weeks to get our $3500 deposit back, when we decided not to use them to build. They don’t answer your phone calls, emails, etc. I had to go through to the President of the company to get any answers. Stay as far away from them as you can

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They don't return your phone calls or emails. Our "New Home Specialist," Levi, would call me an hour before a meeting with a contractor that he wasn't going to be there (even though his boss said he should have been there). Levi made so many mistakes that his boss assigned another specialist to help us as he wasn't getting the job done.

At the end of the day though, no one seemed to care. Waiting days to hear back from anyone indicates that your business isn't important to them. Unless you have 5-10 years to build a home, stay far away from this company who is looking to fill up housing editions and doesn't care about individual family homes anymore. My family and I were so stressed out and discouraged by this company that we called it quits with them early. Thank God, as you can see from other reviews, the building process would surely not have gone any better.

    Build a home
    $600,000

I wish there was something, anything really I could say good about this group but sadly there isn't. THOROUGHLY VET THIS BUILDER (I blindly took the recommendation of a friend), you will see there is a consistent vibe about this company. 1) they make an inordinate amount of mistakes throughout the process. 2) they take an extensive amount of time in the planning process. They will tell you 4-6 weeks to break ground but in reality it is 5-7 months if you push them hard. 3) everything is the customers fault and therefore at the cost (often times extraordinary cost) to the customer. I've read story after story and they are all the same, multiple mistakes and other things that weren't accounted for that resulted in large out of pocket expenses from the homeowner. It happens far too often to not be intentional. ON my own deal no joke, well over 100 error just in planning and even after 10 revisions to the plans due to constant Davis errors, its still maybe 75-80% correct.

There is an arrogance from management that you can cut with a knife, and an equal level of disdain yet they play the game that they care about their customers but they don't. they will stop construction when they want you to pay another fee THEY think you should. Its at best unethical and perhaps extortion, frankly.

These people talk a good game but they are about themselves completely, they only pretend to care about their customers. If you are considering them for their OYL program, stop, drop and role.....do not pass go or collect $200. I can't say strongly enough, you will regret it if you associate with Davis Homes. Our experience has been horrible. We talked multiple times of walking but unfortunately we didn't and we paid for it.

They will refuse accountability at every level, will not accept responsibility fro any mistake no matter how insignificant and will outright refuse to provide a schedule at any juncture in the process. Absolutely unwilling to be accountable for anything including quality, their own decisions, wrong materials, and the list goes on. If you don't see this as multiple red flags, I've not done a good job of convincing you how bad this group is. literally a zero on a scale of 1-10. If you look you will see reviews from the VP of marketing @ Davis tooting their own horn while saying "you can't make everyone happy"? You can if you actually try to. Its this very arrogance and the utter unwillingness to look at themselves critically, that ensures the'll continue to make the same mistakes over and over again over the years, as you will see if you do your research. The same things are being said about them for nearly a decade.....its not us, its YOU Davis Homes!! Stop making excuses and for once, be accountable.

Zero stars if I wasnt forced to put 1.
