I've never encountered a worse contractor. 6 weeks into a 2 week porch project; he walked off the job after confrontation of quality issues. Left me to build a porch in December.
I documented 7 code violations and several deviations from plans.
I should have fired him day one when he tried to set my porch posts (for a porch attached to a house) at 12 inches; against code and permit drawings.
For every 2 hours he worked, I worked one; fixing quality issues and code violations. Literally, every single thing has been incorrect or unsatisfactory.
