They sent out an estimator, who I learned some things from, and who was very honest, and provided me with important information I need to go forward with the project. At this point, they are out of our price range, but the appointment was appreciated and helpful.

Great quality work. Would highly recommend.

The only issue was they didn't provide a project manager, because our job was small (only a powder room). As a homeowner, I had to give contractors instructions myself a lot.

Replaced concrete porch. Once the job started, it was done in 3 days. Looks great. I recommend.

I have a very bright and over the top sense of home decor style, and I'm a perfectionist. So I was very worried about hiring a team because in my mind I had big, bright dreams and I was not sure anyone would be able to first understand my vision and second execute it with as much attention to detail as I have. DBR met and exceeded my expectations. I had two projects, the larger bedroom project which was removing a load bearing wall and the old trim, repairing and refinishing my hardwood floor, installing chair rail, new base/trim and crown molding, and putting up wallpaper. I was particularly worried about my very detailed wallpaper because they were super expensive and I would have noticed any mistakes, but it came out perfect! The second smaller project was my bathroom where they also hung wallpaper and replaced all my wall accessories. All the guys that worked on my projects were very nice. When I explained my vision they got it and worked hard to do everything how I wanted it, even if I'm sure it was a bit much. I've heard horror stories where contractors quote you 2 weeks and the projects take months, especially since we were living in my basement but they came on time every day and finished it in exactly two weeks as they projected. I hope to work with them again.

7 doors installed in my 2nd floor apartment. a front and back door, and five interior doors. Dbr did a pretty good job. After project was agreed upon it was hard to get in touch with project manager. Once they started Dbr did not keep me in the loop about delays or other problems. On the positive side they cleaned up after the project was completed.

When DBR finally responded to my “project” - for a bathroom remodel, they set up an appointment with the time they were available, but unfortunately they DBR (Terrence Thomas), did not show. Also, no one called to cancel or reschedule. I don’t think they wanted the job/project or to be considered for the project.

This company was referred to me by my lender in April 2021. Someone named Terrence reached out and came over to give me a quote for a one-unit renovation project. This is not a full gut project however, there were a lot of things that needed to be done, replacing doors, laying planks, creating a laundry room, remodeling kitchen, etc. We walked through my apartment at least 1 hour.

On 4/17/2021, I paid $300 via ZELLE to 773-756-8878 for a quote.

I finally receive a quote on 4/28/2021 at 1:42am! When I realized I finally got the quote that morning I opened it up to review the items there. None of what we discussed was in the quote. I replied via email with a list of items that were missing from the quote. It had to be a mistake and maybe I got someone else quote instead. I emailed and called..... NO RESPONSE!

I called the company left multiple voice messages! NO response!!!!! No call back! Nothing whatsoever.

We're now in June! No quote and at this point they stole $300 from me! Beware of who you pay for a quote. I really do believe this company is a scam and they refuse to return my calls or give me a full quote which is what I paid for.

James and his team did an incredible job! They are extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond our expectations! Would highly recommend:)

DBR / James did my sidewalks - about 415 sq ft. James was very responsive and kept me up to date. Their price was very reasonable, and the workmanship turned out better to be very good and beyond my expectations. In all, I would hire them again and hope to give them more jobs in the future.

This was a bathroom remodel. We live in a Chicago Bungalow house and we wanted an "aging in place bathroom" in addition to keeping up with the integrity of the home features. We felt that they listened to the concerns that had (fix the water leak into the basement, grout that was a nightmare and making a barrier free entrance into the shower area. We wanted everything that was custom to our needs so we were able to put in the grab bars next to the toilet, next to the shower bench that folds in and out and two shower heads for easy access. We also had the shower niches within reach instead of reaching for things. We felt that our needs were heard and taken into consideration. Hard workers, good communication and good with details that can be overlooked.

Showed up for an estimate. Took photos and recorded measurements. Promised an estimate within 3 days. Did not hear from Dbr Home Builders, Inc. again.

Terrence was super communicative with me throughout the entire project. He gave me great suggestions, answered all my questions, and was the consummate professional throughout. I will definitely continue using them in the future.

The manager is nice and very responsive to my questions but the workman are lack of communication. The cement around the hole of the sewer pipe is not round and make it look awkward.

DBR Home Builders constructed an 8' x 8' foundation in our back yard just far enough from the storm drain in the back of the yard for our new shed.

It did come in over the original estimate, but that was because of wildly varying shed availability during the pandemic, and vendors like Amazon who'd say a shed was in stock, take and order, and later cancel saying the shed was unavailable.

This led to a wild scramble to find yet another shed - possibly with different dimensions which would require a different size foundation and require the new size be re-permitted.

We started out wanting a 7' x 7' foundation and eventually settled on an 8' x 8' foundation to accommodate a larger variety of sheds, and ultimately settled on a 7' x 7' shed which became available during all this frantic activity.

None of this, of course, was DBR's fault, and they patiently accepted out numerous changes with calm aplomb.

They built our new back porch/deck in 3 days (much quicker than expected) and it looks awesome! Extremely courteous and professional.

From James Tassev, the Financial Manager, to the crew that came out to do the demolition and concrete pour, the project (12' x 14' concrete slab patio in a Condo Complex) was handled professionally. Permits with the Village of Hinsdale were handled with care, and final inspection by Village Inspector went without a hitch. All questions asked by my wife and by my Condo Board were answered promptly and with examples from past jobs. I have recommended DBR Home Builders LLC to my Condo Board for any future projects.
