DO NOT HIRE THEM. DB's Remodeling was a nightmare to work with. We contracted with them to renovate two bathrooms and almost a week after they were supposed to be done with both they weren't even halfway done with ONE. Even after promising over and over that they would get things done in a timely fashion, entire days would go by without anyone showing up. Not to mention the work was done super poorly. The drain in the shower doesn't drain, the plumbing for the sinks was done incorrectly, and the (small amount) of tile work they actually got done was extremely sloppy. Dwan James, the owner, repeatedly promised a refund of amounts we'd paid correlating to work that hadn't been done, but he's since refused to respond to any of our messages. We've had to file a complaint with the Office of Attorney General in order to come to any sort of resolution.

Do not hire! We hired Dwan R. James, owner of DB's remodeling, LLC in Sept 2021. 3 pmts scheduled for the job totaling $26000. The job start date on the contract was 9/30/21 and the completion date was 11/3/2021. He started on time, took $23,866 dollars in advance and all he has done is tear off a carport, and sunroom, rip off our siding, dig a footer trench, leaving a mound of dirt in our yard, pallets of cinder blocks in yard and driveway, trash and bags of mortar left in driveway, tools, and supplies just lying around the yard, exposed wires hanging down the back of our home, made our backdoor unusable. He just kept asking for money and we were so desperate to have the job finished, that we gave it to him. He has lied over and over about getting the job done, giving us a refund, saying I TRIED to attack him with violence, even after he knows of RING video recordings. He kept making excuses about everything. No money for Christmas, another project stiffed him, being evicted, the truck is out of gas, tire flat on the truck, truck won't start, cant find excavator, can't find workers. He has since ceased communication, which is fine because he isn't doing anything anyway to benefit us. We do not think Dwan James has any clue on how to do this type of work. He was digging in a spot of our yard where he had no business digging, and broke 2 sewer lines coming out of the house, and a natural gas line that he never repaired. He hasn’t given us a dime back as a refund for anything. My husband even went to Lowes with Dwan so he could use our military discount to get the cinder blocks cheaper. Then, this month, he took most of the blocks out of our yard in a Uhaul truck, drove the truck to Lowes, and stood in front of me trying to get a refund for the blocks. I just happened to be there at the same time watching him do this. He has a current HIC # PA094799. His business address is also not on Maytide St. in Pittsburgh. He was evicted from that residence. I can provide pictures if you contact me. One star because I had to select something.
