I could not have asked for a better water mitigation company. The first team to show up cleaned up the water, ripped out the carpets, cut open the walls, and set up the drying fans and dehumidifiers. They kept me informed during the whole process, which included telling me when they would return, calling before coming out, and working hours beyond a "normal work day." Their kindness helped make a bad situation bearable.
Next came the contents crew. They packed up all my belongings to either store, clean, or toss away, based on the extent of water damage. I was asked what clothes, etc, I'd need over the next few months so they could separate those from the items they'd store until repairs were completed. This crew was a very happy and hard working bunch of people. They had one small incident where a wine bottle was dropped and broken. They were mortified and so apologetic...you'd think the loss was to a priceless antique, not an inexpensive bottle of wine. Their reaction told me how seriously they took their job and wanted to make no mistakes, no matter how small.
The moving crew arrived to take and store or disposed of furniture. Again, another bunch of great people. They took lots of precautions to protect walls, doorways, and the furniture. Again, they seemed happy with their job and very professional. They, like the other teams kept the communication open and I was always informed of what was happening and what was the next step.
The total water mitigation process and content removal lasted about 10 days. Not once did I have anything to complain about.
DC Restoration is not doing the remodeling, another company was assigned that job. When the estimator walked through the house, he was amazed at the top quality work done by the DC crews. The steps they took to do a great job makes the restoration company's job much easier. The estimator was very complimentary of DC's fine work. -

We lost our home to a fire on 30 AUG 2017 while I was deployed in support of Hurricane Harvey, USAA recommended DC Restoration to clear out our personal property, clean up and rebuild our home as they are one of USAAs preferred contractors. Since this project started DC Restoration has brought in sub-contractors that have stolen my property, former DC Restoration employees have made harassing phone calls and text messages asking me for money, and they have failed to pay their own sub-contractors resulting in a lien’s being placed against what was left of our home. The initial work done was so bad it not only had to be torn down completely they caused additional structural damage to the home, cracking several beams that were holding up the second story. At almost every step of the reconstruction DC Restoration attempted swap the above average grade finishes in my home for cheap knockoff brands without our knowledge and even attempted to re-use smoke damaged and burned stone from the rubble pile in the back yard, placing it back on our home and trying to pass it off as new. It took 11 months and a call to the owners of DC Restoration from USAA Management just to get them to finish the roof. Throughout this reconstruction DC Restoration refused to hire subcontractors capable of doing the work; instead they opteing for unskilled day laborers, destroying thousands of dollars’ worth of materials and cost tens of thousands of dollars in man hours as work often must be demolished and re-done. When DC Restoration was not utilizing day laborers they used “in-house” employees who worked on the job in their off time or as a side project. On average DC Restoration only worked two to three days a week on my home and only for a few hours a day. As of today 16 FEB 2019, 18 months after our fire there are still repairs that need to be done, fixing parts of the home not damaged in the fire but wrecked by DC Restoration. If this company shows up at your door, slam it shut and call someone else.

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR - they do not pay their subcontractors even after the insurance company pays them on subs' invoices. You, the homeowner, are responsible and you will receive the bill and/or lawsuit. DC Restoration submits subcontractor's invoice to insurance company, receives payment within days and keeps the money - refusing calls to sub. Now homeowner is responsible and being taken to court. BUYER BEWARE Damage Control Restoration is very unethical and actually criminal.

Zero Star!!! Do not get business with these Devils
Going into business with this people is going into business with the devil. To save yourself from the headaches and heartaches do not sign anything with them without fully going line by line.
My Insurance company sent this people to my house for Mitigation after a flood from a leak upstairs, they were initially prompt and fast with mitigation, they had open dry walls, lifted carpets, hardwood floor pulled off, having no ideas how insurance claims for house, I asked then, when are they coming back to fix these things ones it dries, they were quick to have me sign all these papers and trusting my insurance company (pekins insurance,) I went ahead and signed and hired them, worst mistake of my life, once they sent the estimate to my insurance company and it was approved and the started working on the house, everything became a nightmare, it took them roughly 4 months, they stopped working simply because they were notified by the insurance company that the check was mailed to me, and because the insurance company had my old mortgage company on the check, they had to reissue the check to my new mortgage company and I had to mail it to my Mortgage company for them to endorse and send it back to me and then sent to DC restoration, so because that process was not going fast enough for DC restoration the slowed production on my house and called and e-mailed me every day, like debt collector.
Thinks they did not do: On the estimate they submitted to the insurance company, if 10 square foot needed dry wall and repainting, they submit and estimate that, that whole wall will be repainted for uniformity as long as the wall connect, same thing with the ceiling but that is not what was done, this is just one example.
So, when they stopped production and my kids were getting injured from the hardwood not being installed, I had to get some hardy man from craigslist and this man opened my eyes to how dubious this company was but by then it was too late.
Long story short, my insurance company paid them for the Mitigation, I paid $1000 deductible plus $7,242.13 that I received from the insurance company. They are disregarding that fact that; they did not do what they were supposed to do. So now they claim I owe them $2,414.05, placed a lien on my house and taking me to small claim court. I spent $1050 to repair when they stopped production and replaced my TV that got damaged, they stated my TV was not included in the estimate, so when I got my stimulus check, I offered to send then a check for $1364 and have this matter closed, they decline.
