DAN WAS. GREAT!!! HE iIS PROFESSIONAL! He talke

TERRIBLE! SHODDY WORK - REFUSAL TO FIX WORK THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE CORRECTED FENCE PROBLEM!!! NO RETURN CALLS, IGNORES VOICE-MAILS!!! COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!!

BE FORWARNED! San Jose, CA - Date of Repair Work: 7-18-2011. After viewing the condition of an older common fence and our request for his recommendation for either a new fence or repair the existing fence, Dan said he could make the fence sturdy and strong by his proposed repairs, understanding that the problem was my dog getting through it into neighbor's yard. Dan performed the work and when I asked about installing new lattice along the top, he agreed to do that work too.
Within one week my neighbors called to say the dog had been through the fence, twice, on two different days while we were out. I called Dan immediately. That's when he said "it's an older fence, it's not going to last much longer. I didn't realize how bad it was until I'd started working on it." Really? And this is a company that "SPECIALIZES" in fence work? I told him the time to tell us about the condition of the fence and/or that he wasn't sure his repairs would be as sturdy and strong as he originally assured us was when he noticed it! (Or, how about at the time he came out and looked at it before he provided his proposal?) And why would we pay good money to have the fence repaired when it really should have been replaced, according to what Dan inferred after he did the work??? And AFTER I paid him additional money to replace the lattice across the top that wasn't sturdy???
Dan said he'd be out one day to make the repairs and then NO SHOWED. HE REFUSES TO RETURN ANY ONE OF MY CALLS. IT HAS NOW BEEN 3 WEEKS SINCE I LEFT AT LEAST 4 VOICE-MAILS TELLING HIM WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY ON OUR HANDS BECAUSE OF HIS WORK; THE FENCE BOARDS THAT WERE CRACKED HE DIDN'T REPLACE AND WHAT HE DID DO WON'T KEEP OUR PETS IN. DAN HAS IGNORED ALL REQUESTS TO RETURN AND FIX HIS WORK TO DATE: Mon, Aug. 29th, 2011.
IF YOUR EXPECTING QUALITY WORK FROM A REPUTABLE CONTRACTOR WHO STANDS BY HIS WORD, DON'T GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Be forwarned. BTW...Dan rides a big old Harley with his "girl" friend in tow, when providing quotes and/or collecting payment. Maybe he thinks it's intimidating enough so no one will complain. A formal complaint has also been filed with State Contractor's Licensing Board. Let's see what Dan decides to do when he gets their letter soon...
