    Bathroom Remodel
    $19,000

    We hired Decar to remodel our bathroom. David and his team created a lovely space for us, and David was very helpful in coming up with solutions for space and design issues that were a part of the project. I appreciated that workers appeared when they said they were coming and were diligent and conscientious in their work. Pricing was reasonable, and slightly discounted from other quotes I received. David did everything to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the work. I'm hoping to use him again for two other projects I have in mind.

    Whole House Remodel
    $90,000

    David remodeled our whole house and took great care to do excellent work. He added a bathroom, took out structural walls, did a new kitchen, fireplace, all new hardwood floors, new windows, rewired the whole house, added radiators, on and on. He never ducked a call even in a few tense moments when we were stressing out. Our old Oak Park house had constant surprises that changed the project direction multiple times and David was always there to figure out a solution. He worked with the city, did all permitted work, and passed all inspections. Unlike other people we have worked with David always answered his phone or text within the hour. Everytime. No project is perfect and it took longer than we thought, but David was always in communication and the end product is fabulous. Plan for your project to take longer than estimated and have 20% more than you think it will cost for surprises that come up, weather you use Decar or not. That's just the nature of large remodels. David's pricing was more than fair for what he did and less than others that quoted us. We are lucky we had David to help our family and now we are rehiring him to gut our basement.

    Jesus where do I start.. let's start with the lies. (Lie #1)Contractor said he would be ready to start as soon as I closed on my house. Work wasn't start for over 3 weeks. He didn't pull the permits 2 weeks after we closed. I asked many times when we would order material such as the ceramic, cabinets plumbing and light fixtures and he kept on lying to me about when we would meet to do that. When he finally started working on the house he would only have 1 or 2 guys working. Home repair cost was roughly more than 100k. at that rate the house would've been done probably in 10 months. He gave me a price to remodel my master bathroom and then changed the price but didn't notify me until after he started moving the plumbing, electrical and wall. I could totally understand being off by 1 maybe 2 grand but not off by more than 8 k that was the time I realized he couldn't work for me anymore and I "fired" him). On top of changing the cost I later found out the work that he did wasn't done right and the setup he did with the plumbing and electrical in the bathroom for a double vanity is useless. He is now suing me for 19k for less than a weeks worth of work for 2 guys. Just so unprofessional. Stood me up several times and had me waiting for more than an hr multiple times when he actually showed up. My project that was originally supposed to take 2 months has turned into a nightmare. I closed on the house Jan 31st. It is now April 19th and there's less than a weeks worth of work done on the house. I will contact an attorney and I will file a counterlawsuit for breach of contract, negligent work and I will get some sort of compensation for the time this man has wasted and the stressed he has caused on myself and my family.
