I do not recommend Decks Unlimited LLC to ANYONE!! I paid the owner Mitch G**** a large amount of money to build a fence on my property. My first impression of Mitch was that he knew what he was talking about, cared about his customers and strived for a quality product. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. For the duration of the project, Mitch was never on site doing any of the work. Mitch’s employees built the fence. Those same employees were seen sleeping in my back yard for extended periods of time, urinating against the house and left a large amount of garbage (soda cans, fast food bags and Candy wrappers) on the ground for days at a time until I finally cleaned it up. Near completion of the build, I found: -The fence pickets were not level on the fence -The spacing between the pickets side to side was not equal. Half of them were touching and the other half approximately 2-3 inches apart -The height of the pickets were wrong. Half the pickets on the fence were touching the ground while the other half was 3-4 inches off the ground -Half the pickets were only secured by one staple. Every time the wind picks up, pickets fall off the fence. -The posts were not spaced out equally -The height of the posts ranged from 5 1/2 feet to 7 feet -Concrete for the footings had poured over into my yard and the neighbors yard -The gates did not line up I also found Mitch had installed latches on the gates that were not accessible from outside, making the back yard only accessible through my down starts patio door. I told Mitch that I wanted to be able to open the gates from outside if I needed to get into my back yard. Mitchs solution instead of buying new latches was to tie a string to one of the latches and he then threw the string over the top of the fence. Mitch told me that I would need to pull on the string to open that gate. In court, Mitch stated that this is “common practice”. During the build, Mitch drove heavy equipment around my yard causing thousands of dollars in damage to the ground and turf. His crew used a power saw on two posts that were positioned against the side of my house causing damage to my new siding. When I showed Mitch the issues, he became vulgar and defensive. Mitch refused to fix any of the issues and stated that it was good quality work. Mitch then began making threats and stated multiple times that I was “taking food out of his children’s mouths”. After that conversation with Mitch, Mitch and his crew never returned to finish the job or fix any of the issues. I am now out thousands of dollars and will need to spend thousands more to repair the damage Mitch has caused to my property and to rebuild a fence that I already paid for. Mitch only uses the LLC title to get work and to avoid any repercussions in court after he takes your money and fails to deliver a quality product or to finish the job since he is uncollectible as an LLC. I do not recommend this company to anyone and urge everyone reading this to spread the word about this company and the owner so that no one els gets ripped off.
