I live in Groton, MA and need 2 small repairs to my soffit. I contacted DeJordy Contracting LLC and asked Tyler (the owner) to come out and give me an estimate. on 3/14/25 he came over and gave me an estimate of $1200 plus supplies. I told him that as a senior, retired person, I could not afford that much. He negotiated a price of $750 if I would be flexible on the schedule, telling me it may be 2 or 3 weeks before he could get to it. I agreed and he asked for a 50% deposit for the work. I gave him a check for $375 and he left. On 4/15/25 I texted him about the job and he said "I will do my best to get over this week I will be in touch!" but I never heard from him. On 5/5/25 I sent him a text and told him that if he could not get to me in the next 2 weeks to please return my deposit. Nothing. On 5/19/25 I sent a final message stating that I had tried to be reasonable but that time had passed and he had until Friday to return my deposit or I would start legal proceedings. I still have not heard from him or received my deposit. Therefore, I am left with no choice but to file a civil suit. At this point it is about the principal of the thing. Tyler need to know that he can not take advantage of seniors without consequences.
