Nickeled, Dimed, and Delayed — But Gorgeous in the End
While the finished countertop looks great, the process with Delorie Countertops & Doors, Inc. was unnecessarily frustrating.
12 days just to template (other companies promised 2 days)
After I prepaid in full through Home Depot, they suddenly “found” nearly $500 in extra charges — none related to measurements. Home Depot helped reduce it to $280.
5+ weeks of silence until I called to check, at which point it became clear my order had been misplaced.
The day before installation, I alerted them to a small marina access issue. Instead of working with me, Kim was rude, threatened reschedule fees, and insisted I pay an extra $200 for an “additional man.” That “extra man” never showed. I had to request a refund through Home Depot.
To be fair, the installers themselves were excellent — the seam is invisible, the work area was spotless, and they even left a cutting board gift. But the scheduling, surprise charges, and poor customer service from management — especially Kim — were unacceptable.
If you value clear communication and respect for your time and money, I would strongly consider other countertop companies.
