A follow up to my previous post on Denny Bloom Waterproofing . After no responses from him or ServiceMaster on the concerns that I listed . I brought in abother waterproofing contractor to confirm these concerns . After a visual exception it was determine that the system suspect and excavation needed to be done to confirm. These arr the findings . 1. After digging up the footer , no perforrated drain pipe was found . 2. Waterproofing membrane contracted for was 2 10 ft sections of house vinyl siding 3. No weep holes in the concrete block as required 4. Sump pump basin cut in half to fit the sump pit hole which was only 19 inches deep . Minimum depth should be 24 plus inches 5. No weep holes in the sump pump basin for water to collect . 6. Drain pipe trench depth was only to thr basement footer . Obiously he had no intention to install the french drain pipe because the depth was not deep enough. Rock used to cover the trench was mostly the chips from the excavation and not 2B Lime stone . Using the chips from the excavation would eventionally harden and clog up any draining . These egregious findings are a fruad . I had to have the system completely redone at a cost of $2970.00. Although I don't expect a refund but I will seek legal action in hopes this will not be perpetrated on anyone else .
