Dependable Service Plumbing & Air was started by David Sodano, a plumber who moved to Myrtle Beach from Boston in 2004. From 2004 to 2012 David and his wife, Michele, grew the company to four employees plus the two of them.
In 2012 Gerry Voorhees, present CEO, purchased half of the business and that's when things really took off. From 2012 to 2022 under Voorhees' business leadership Dependable Service has gone from a small plumbing company employing six people to 35 plus employees.

We were a "Preferred Customer".
Kevin and I purchased our home in December of 2021. We have spent thousands of dollars with Dependable since that purchase including a yearly maintenance agreement, hot water heater cleaning, gas log installation, UV Light for the HVAC and one of the jobs was cleaning the HVAC duct work. Last week during our scheduled spring maintenance the service tech informed us the duct system is filthy. He didn't realize his company had just done the cleaning a couple of months ago. Kevin told him he was not happy to hear the job was not done well. Before leaving, the service tech looked into the issue and told us he was not surprised because the original tech that did the cleaning was no longer with the company. We asked for the work to be done again. Today we were told the only part that would be recleaned was what could be seen which is at the intake just behind the filter. The big thing that was supposed to appease us was the "as a sorry about that" Dependable would fog the system with an antimicrobial for "free". How can we be comfortable with what CANNOT BE SEEN??? Especially knowing the tech that did the job was no longer with the company. All of that filth has certainly blown through the ENTIRE SYSTEM continuously since the supposed cleaning we paid for a couple of months ago!!! We really thought the Dependable Manager would stand behind the work his company was paid to do and that he would send his two best techs out to re-clean all the duct work. Two techs, three or so hours of work to clean ductwork, would have made a loyal customer happy and show us the company is trustworthy and stands behind what they say and do. Needless to say we are very disappointed and feel cheated out of a lot of money.? Dependable is obviously NOT DEPENDABLE when comes to matters of customer service.
