Sadly, I have had two bad experiences. The first time the crew broke and outside light. I was told that someone would call to replace it but it never happened. I should have pursued it but didn't. Just recently again I used Derek's power washing service. When the service was performed I was not at my beach home. I trusted the service. When I arrived at the house a piece of molding from the chimney was laying on the ground. I called a solid week to both numbers but got no response. My husband had double bypass surgery and was unable to even try to fix the molding. I pleaded on the phone that I needed help. I was even willing to pay for the service to repair the molding that came off. I never got a response. I had to hire another company to repair the molding. I would never recommend the services of OC Derek.

Four jobs, three less-than-great results. 1) Power washing the outside of our condo unit was fine. 2) Washing all windows and screens. They were clean, but I found the vertical door blinds damaged, and many, many cloths used for the window cleaning outside on the lawn. 3) Repairs to or replacing of wooden porch railing was okay, but it took many calls and finally me, the bulldog, to get them to actually begin the work. It was a hit-or-miss job and the workmen had to return to redo and fix their sloppy work. 4) We should've learned by now not to call Mr. Handy, but we didn't. The last job was replacing a leaking third floor porch. It's too soon to tell if the work is okay, but their clean-up was non-existent. They apparently just swept the mess (nails and screws, rotted wood, pieces of metal etc.) off the porch down onto the lawn and garden below. One of the workmen also stupidly decided to place a filthy porch chair on our bed leaving stains. I'll never use this company again.

My experience with Derek and "Mr. Handy" was awful. First, I had a simple job of replacing some wooden/older trex steps with new materials. The workmanship was very poor. They agreed and came back and fixed it. All seems ok here, but no! The replace materials included using steel finishing nails that now, two years later are rusting through. Last year Derek saw this problem and agreed to fix it. He has never been back. I would not have him build nor fix a dog house for me!

Derek started off great but at some point decided to make his own decisions on what work he wanted to do - and in my absence did 3x-4x the work I requested or authorized him for. I questioned numerous times but every time I came to check the work there was more AGAIN. And then the bill came - 3x his quote!!!! Never finished the job even after I paid - 2 doors he installed don't shut, deck material I paid for never delivered and I just found that his guys dry walked an outlet into the wall! Yes loose wires not even capped but with painters tape hanging in my wall ready to start a fire. 13 voicemails later and he is MIA. Don't hire!!
