    I don't even want to give this company 1 star. Stay away from Design Build Masters. Len comes across as a friendly, knowledgeable person. Boy, was I wrong.
    I hired him to do my bathroom and kitchen. Because I only have one bathroom, I had to move out and Len assured me it was only for two weeks. I moved in 8 weeks later after I fired him. I only had a toilet at that point. He keep telling me that they ran into problems because I have an old house. The house was built in the 50s. It's not ancient.
    I had to replace all the plumbing that was done by his plumber. I had to tear down the shower tiles he installed and start from scratch with the shower. The tiled floor was not finished.
    During the 8 weeks he kept asking for money. When I asked him for the financials, he keep putting me off. Never received a spreadsheet of where the money was going. I finally fired him after the job was twice what he had quoted and saw that the work he had done was terrible.
    DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!!!

    We hired Design Build Masters LLC in July 2024 for a garage addition. What we did not know at the time was that the individual we contracted with was not licensed—he was using another contractor’s license.

    At first, the contractor came across as friendly and conversational. Once work began, however, we realized he spent more time talking in circles than providing real answers. His schedules and updates were vague and misleading. He required us to pay on a regular invoice schedule but then hired subcontractors at the lowest possible cost—often failing to pay them. On more than one occasion, subcontractors approached us directly, saying they had not been paid.

    The project timeline quickly fell apart. It took over three months just to pour a simple foundation, another six weeks to frame, and another month for the slab (with only minimal weather delays). By January 2025, we had already paid more than 70% of the budget but had only a framed structure to show for it.

    We also agreed to several change orders, which we paid for upfront. Yet no work on these changes was ever started. In March 2025, we asked him to cancel the change orders and return to the original scope of work. At that point, despite the original project being almost fully paid, he told us he needed double the original budget to finish. He admitted he did not have the money to complete the project.

    When we reviewed the invoices and payment records, we found clear evidence of double billing, overbilling, and unpaid subcontractors. We have documentation to support this. Since then, we have discovered he has conducted himself this way with multiple other clients.
