I'd recommend having your leg amputated without anesthesia before I'd recommend using Design Everest. They quoted me 5-6 weeks to complete architectural plans and 3-4 weeks to complete engineering plans. I got quotes from several other architect firms, but Design Everest had the fastest turnaround time so I signed a contract with them. What a mistake! I signed the contract on October 19th. It's now July 8th and they're still not finished. The plans that were supposed to be finished in 5-6 weeks took nearly 5 1/2 months. We submitted the plans to the city and they sent them back with comments. While some comments are normal, these plans had missing labels and measurements. It was obvious I was given incomplete plans. I submitted the comments to Design Everest to be addressed. They told me it would take 4 weeks. That's right, it was going to take them nearly as long to address comments on the plans as what they quoted me to draw up the architectural plans from scratch. 4 weeks has now turned into 6 weeks and counting because we had to wait for clarification from the city on the placement of my garage because apparently, Design Everest doesn't know Los Angeles building codes. This error resulted in having to decrease the length of my garage. This would be accomplished by moving a single wall 4 feet. They needed a week to do this. That's right, 40 hours were needed to move a single wall on a one-story, flat roof building. And now they're telling me it will be another two weeks for the engineer to do his part.
If you love waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, then Design Everest might be for you. Otherwise, stay away!!

Terrible service! I hired them to do a foundation inspection and they did such a crappy job that I had to redo the service. They charge you upfront and they don't live up to their promise.
It's day light robbery and I would STAY AWAY! Beware of this firm they will take your money and run

SCAM ALERT
We hired this company for structural drawing. We plan on using the space in the ceiling for storage. They took our money. Guarantee to have the drawings done in 10 days, before Christmas. It's now March. No explanation on why it was delayed. No drawing. No draft.
After reading the reviews and looking into the company, I do not think this is legitimate. I believe this is a one-person show outsourcing their work. I have never been able to get a hold of anyone working on my project—constantly leaving messages for management to get in touch with me. No response.

By Galina G.December 8, 2021Structural and Civil Engineering Plans$20,000
This is the worst Engineering Design firm. They outsource their engineers from India. They are incapable of accomplishing the plans on time. Do not use this place. We are still waiting for our structural and civil plans. It’s been 4 months. You can’t speak with the engineers directly and have to go through an intermediary who lacks the basic knowledge about construction. They are completely incompetent and all of their positive reviews are fake! Do not use this company. You will get nothing but aggregations.

Completely unprofessional and untrustworthy. I called to get a structural engineer to do an assessment of my house. They confirmed my location, asked for payment in full (which I sent) and then signed a contract. Then they said they don't service my location. I'm still waiting on my refund.

I have for years wanted to convert my barn into ADU in back of my house. I never could find anyone in my small town who could design it. My contractor referred me to Design Everest. Design Everest, Mayank Sharan and his team could have not been more professional, thorough, and patient. They helped me create the design and submitted it to the planning and building department. We had many set backs due to it was a barn conversion near the San Andreas Fault line. Maynak and his team never got frustrated and showed perseverance. I highly recommend Design Everest.

I recently used Design Everest firm for structural engineering needs with my home remodeling. I found them to be very professional, very knowledgable with everything related to Structural Engineering, on schedule from delivery point of view, very friendly and go out of their way to help their customers. In one particular instance, even though it was a weekend, because of some issue with my foundation work which was revealed only after the area around the foundation was dug up by my general contractor, they went out of their way to guide me with decision making and helped me with rework of structural documents that were needed(basically they took my calls and worked on my documents even though it was a weekend). I definitely recommend them for everything related to structural engineering work. Big shout out to Aakash and Amar with whom I worked a lot during my engagement with Design Everest.

By Harper H.December 26, 2018Multiple renovations and ground up residences as well as commercial tenant improvement
I have worked with Design Everest on multiple projects over the past two years. I am an Architect who has the opportunity to work with a number of different engineers and I continuously send my clients to Design Everest for their level of service, competitive pricing and design competency. They are always there to assist us with whatever comes up during the life of a project and will work with us on whatever the task at hand. Anything from complex design requirements to construction coordination and everything in-between is their specialty. They have the ability to get things done on short notice and are always available to us when we need a partner to deliver the same level of customer service that our clients expect from us. I highly recommend them to any design professional or private client and hope to continue our working relationship in the coming years!

We hired Design Everest to prepare architectural and structural drawings for us to get a permit to fix our home's ceilings that were unsafely vaulted by a licensed contractor (see our review of Janssen Builders). They weren't the least expensive bidder, but it was clear to us that they were the most professional and competent. Throughout the design process they were extremely thorough; for example, the structural engineer's draftsman spent over a day and a half just taking measurements and double checking everything. The designer was no less exacting, reviewing the entire property several times while in process of producing his work. Their product was good enough to be approved over the counter by the planning office, after a careful and complete review. Throughout the process the company's stellar coordinator, Jessica Passage, kept everything flowing and all parties informed as needed, as well as quickly and effectively responding to all requests for changes as needed.
We have just hired a contractor, Baron Construction, and will write a review on them when they've completed their work. We'll also update this review at that time as well.

Absolutely Horrible Design Firm!
We contracted with them to do a simple kitchen remodel and a 4 ft. wall push out. Here we are over a year later and they still can't get our plans past. Unprofessional, unorganized, no communication and incompetent. Once they get paid in full, their due diligence disappears. Project managers are worthless. The sub their work out and don't vet their subs. Our architect was confrontational in our initial zoom meeting when our contractor explaind what was need. STAY AWAY FROM THESE HACKS!
