    Build a home

    Worst nightmare ever! My biggest regret in my entire life! You will have so many issues with this builder! You’re better off hiring a homeless person to build a house! All the houses on our street have flood issues due to the poor yard grading! “ they will come to your property without letting you know they are there to halfass fix and issue! I can go on and on about just everything wrong that we have found in our house! I have so much anxiety and just regret buying a house from this company! Best advice don’t build with this company! They should be ashamed of the work they put out!

    Unfortunately decided to purchase my family's forever home through Devon Street Homes. Day before closing it was conveyed that the ceilings were literally drooping throughout sheetrock wise. We were told it would be corrected, but its normal. After personally hiring engineer out of pocket with only 1 of the 3 reimbursements offered back by builder due to correction not being done correctly we were told they would remedy again but its cosmetic and to be expected within certain tolerance. During engineer inspections multiple areas of my framing was noted to be poor quality materials used, improper placements of members direction wise throughout causing multiple bows and repairs additionally, poor quality control as this should have never been sheetrocked with framing as poor as it was. The framing sat rained on for MONTHS with 0 work or ROOF protection in any way damaging it prior to even construction of home but yet still utilizing it with that knowledge of being poor material and damaged. After MULTIPLE REPAIRS throughout my entire home, it's still just as bad. We have had to pack/unpack/pack more times than I can count since purchase, no offers for accomodations of hotel while living in house fully wrapped for repairs/paint/texture etc with 2 small children and a pregnant owner. Every time I have asked for a framing report I have been denied and tricked into believing one was sent as requested when really only a Joist lay out was sent because had we had what was requested THIS HOME WOULD NEED TO BE REBUILT! I have caught members incorrect behind sheetrock after pushing builder to open wall when they refused and said it was right only to learn I WAS right and 1 2 x 4 was holding up my entire roof and joists! RIDICULOUS and not per code, especially with additional members added during repairs changing amount of members per code. My home was built poorly and Devon St refuses to accept responsibility and truly correct the error to my structure. It was also told to builder's construction manager at the time by the sheetrock company that due to poor quality members, incorrect positionings of them and qc this was going to be an issue, builder approved anyways to close their sale. Another contractor noted that the ceiling wasn't properly poured at one of their inspections and it is unlevel from beginning with dip in center ADDING TO THE FRAMING/STRUCTURE ISSUES, of course builder denies.     Built new home

    Definitely, will not recommend this builder to anyone. I have reached out to corporate office about 4 weeks ago and I have not had a response from them. I have been reaching out to the contractor for them to fix some of the work that was left incomplete and I have received no update. My next step will be to reach out to the BBB.

    Do not use this builder unless you enjoy being lied to. They have moved our closing date numerous times. They just keep giving us dates to appease us then as we approach the date it changes again. We started with october 31st closing date, then late november, then dec 10th, then dec 15, dec 31st. And now they have told us jan 26th. Who nows what date they will give us next. We asked to get out of the deal but there is no way out. It has been hell! We asked for concessions for the inconvenience and they said no.
