  Arlen is one of the finest contractors I have ever met. Last year, we wanted to have a large detached garage/shop/rv storage building built. It was to be located on a steep forested hillside adjacent to our home, and we weren't sure it was even possible. Arlen took a look at the site, and said "we can do this". He took us through every step of the process, starting with drawing up the plans. As he built the structure, he suggested practical features along the way that made everything perfect. The project was completed quickly and the cost was below our expectations. I would recommend Arlen for any construction project. He's the kind of builder that takes pride in his work, and obviously enjoys helping his clients achieve their vision.

  Custom builder

  I have had 2 homes built by DeYoung Construction. I recently stumbled upon this most recent review and was alarmed to see the things that were said. Arlen handles himself with integrity. He has been building homes in my community for over 50 years. I used him as my contractor based on multiple close contacts having used him as a builder. I also worked at the local lumber yard where he gets most of his lumber and knew him as a customer as well. He has an outstanding reputation and is respected by every person I have known who has had him build their home. I would highly recommend him as your contractor. He saved us thousands of dollars by allowing us to do some things ourself. He kept us within our budget and was a great communicator.

  Stay away from this contractor!!!!!! We contracted him to build a custom home in 2018/19 and he kept us in the dark for over a year, left us with an unfinished home and is having his subcontractors send us invoices for payment! This contractor is dishonest, has no integrity or moral compass. Save yourself heartache and disappointment and find a quality contractor elsewhere that stands behind their work and is true to their word!
