Permits
- Building permit records show that Diemert, David Allen has worked on 7 permitted projects.
We contracted with Diemert Construction on 8/18/19 to do work on our lakefront cottage. The work to be undertaken was, but not limited to, expanding and updating deck and walkway, (composite materials), installing 2 sets of sliding glass doors, removing interior stairwell, level and install new flooring, new siding, and various other associated projects. Date of completion was given as 1/13/20. 60 days before any Covid - 19 related business closures.
As of 6/26/20 Status of work: Deck and walkway incomplete, glass door installation incomplete, siding incomplete, and various other finishing details incomplete. Not only is the work not complete but there are safety hazards associated with the work done. For example: The sliders were installed in October, but as of the beginning of June when we moved in, the doors are not secured in place, so pieces of the doors fall off. The composite deck appears to be improperly installed so that pieces are buckling. Post caps are not secured, and blow off repeatedly with the wind.
After repeated requests and assurances that the work would be done June 11, after 9 + months we fired this contractor. I would be happy to provide pictures, if requested.
