  Rebuild broken drains and remodel bathroom

  I have hired DiLago Plumbing on numerous occasions for anything from snaking a drain to redoing collapsed cast iron drain pipes under the house and have always been treated fairly and respectfully. He has always done good work and has, on occasion made suggestions that saved me money. I would recommend him for any job.

  Replace garbage disposal and fix a leaky pipe

  Terrible Plumber

  I hired this plumber to install a new garbage disposal and fix a leaking pipe. He came to my home and never introduced himself in the two hours he was here. I was given a quote of $210 over the phone and then when the work was completed I was give a bill for $310, the additional $100 was for snaking the drain. I was not asked before the drain was snaked if I wanted this service for an extra $100. I text messaged the owner that night and called him at 7am the next morning. He didn't call me back nor did he text me that he'd call. I called Home Advisor to say I needed to speak to him. He called me back at 11:30am, four and a half hours after I left him a message. The excuses he gave for not texting or calling me right away were just that excuses. I explained the situation and he removed the $100 charge from my bill stating that his plumber should have informed me of the extra charge before the work had been done and received my approval. I was happy.
  The next day, I noticed when I ran the dishwasher, that it was not draining and had standing water in it. I called another company out and after the person tore the entire dishwasher apart trouble shooting issues it could have been (but were not) until he asked if any work had been done recently on the garbage disposal. He asked if I had the work done by a plumber, and I replied yes. He then showed me where the factory plug had not been knocked out of the garbage disposal before installation. It cost me $85 to learn that the DiLago plumber had not done the job properly. I called Cary Dilago and told him about the plug and that it wasn't removed and that it cost me $85 to find that out and repair it. Cary offered nothing to make up for this BLUNDER. Instead he offered me $25 off of the cost of future work, stating he had already given me a $100 discount (for unauthorized work). He then changed it to $85 off future work. I told him that wasn't happening and I wasn't happy with his service. His solution was that I would have to spend more money with him to make up for shoddy work done by his employee. I would say stay away from DiLago Plumbing, their plumber charged me for unauthorized work, never gave me his name, and did not properly install a garbage disposal thus costing me an additional $85 to correct it, then the owner's solution was that he wanted me to spend more money with him so he could give me a discount equivalent to amount it cost me to fix the problem that they caused! Terrible service even worse customer service.
