DJK Construction and Restoration

There's not much to describe. The bathroom was demolished over five weeks ago. DJK had a worker quit on
its fourth day of work and then did not come back for over three weeks--no communication from him in that time. A worker was back for a half day last week and did minimal plumbing for the shower only. DJK does not respond to phone calls or e-mails when he does not show up. We cannot plan or adjust to meet his schedule. He seems to have no schedule and says he will be back at a certain time and then does not show up with no warning, explanation, or apology. Last week, Bob Main, DJK, said the shower walls would finally be put up this week--Tuesday was a no-work day as agreed upon at our request--but he has not shown up or answered my phone request for information. He destroyed our summer and has seriously damaged our well being. Communication would help, but he is not a communicator and does not do what he says he will do when he says he will do it anyway. Our first bathroom should be finished or at least VERY NEARLY finished--still demolished with nothing in it. Two suppliers are calling and calling us, wanting our materials to be out of their warehouses. If you hold the contractors to your standards, you need to do something. DJK should be listed with a score of 0, as it is unable to work consistently--well much at all--let alone complete the work he is contracted to do.

I tried to work with Bob Main on my home in Pittsburgh. We worked out an hourly contract with a significant deposit. He did demo work, failed to complete the job, asked me for another deposit of $1000 on future work and then completely ghosted me. It's been 5 months. He just took the money and vanished, and now i have a partially demolished kitchen and bathroom.

He did what I asked him to do.

The construction was very good although promptness could have been better.

My existing patio and removed it, came up a one of a kind design for the new patio, formed it and poured an exposed aggregate patio. They also designed and built a pond and waterfall and landscaped the entire area. It is truly
Magnificent.

They also did numerous repairs on the inside of my house.

They do it all, I am going to have them do my kitchen and master bath in the near future.

Completely Renovated our
Kitchen, master bath and hall bath. They also removed our dining room wall between our kitchen and dining room and opened up the wall between our kitchen and Family room.
Bob was very instrumental in the design of all the phases of the renovations, including, electrical plumbing and HVAC. They also installed a new high efficiency furnace. They also removed a window and made an other window opening smaller by bricking them in and they also cut our brick wall and opened it up and installed a sliding glass door. They installed new water lines and and a new a new sewer line for our addition when we decide to do it. They all did a great job.

Bob Main went above and beyond with the stoop / steps project. He provided a timely estimate and reasonable price. Bob started and finished the project in the agreed time. He is an excellent contractor and I would have Bob do other projects when necessary.

Bob came out to my house to look at the renovation project I had and said he would get back to me with a price. This was two weeks before Christmas and he said it would take a week to get back to me. It is now the first of January and he hasn't responded to any messages I sent inquiring about the pricing. My recommendation is to find someone who will actually call you back.

Though he hasn't done any work for me as of yet... He has been responsible in contacting me and depth of his knowledge.

bob put a new on my home, also put a gable roof section on part of the house.the job took longer than expected but appears to be a very nice job.i hope it lasts a long time. thanks mr. main and crew.
