    Kitchen backsplash

This review has been 3 weeks in the making.

I wish I had better things to say about this company.

They are by far THE WORST company I have ever worked with. The good rating on Thumbtack really made me believe I found a reliable and affordable person to tile the backsplash in our kitchen.

The first red flag should have been the fact that they stayed till 10 pm or midnight the days of the job. I just figured they wanted to get the job done for me, so I ignored how weird that was.

The night they left when the job was “finished” there were some marker marks left all over the tile. 10 red and blue marks to be exact. Very noticeable. The woman he brought asked if we had anything to remove them. Googone, acetone, etc. I gave her the goo gone and it did not come off. He advised me to use acetone to get the marks off and if they didn’t wipe off, let him know.

The next day, we tried EVERYTHING! Acetone, mineral spirits, toothpaste, dry erase markers, anything we could find on YouTube. Still no luck. I let him know that the marks were still there, and he said he would send someone out the next week. This was a Friday, he said he would sent someone on Monday. While we waited for Monday to come, we decided to put the outlet covers back on. They would not go back on. He covered the holes with the tile. (Which is something I told him the night they were there and he said “no”). I sent him a photo and he said that he would have to be the one to come out because he is the only one that can cut the tile, and that wouldn’t be till Wednesday. I agreed.

Tuesday night comes and I get a message about him not being able to make it. He said a family member had covid. I totally understood. He said he could come Friday at 3:30.

Friday at 3:21 roles around and he messages me telling me he can’t make it. Get this, he WAS AT THE AIRPORT AND HIS FLIGHT GOT DELAYED. He knew he wouldn’t make it well before 3:30 and he waited till 9 minutes before to message me.

At this point I asked for some money back so I could hire someone else to compete the job.

He denied and said he would send someone but I had to work around HIS schedule. He made all these mistakes and wanted me to work around HIS schedule.

We went back and forth and he agreed to send someone the following Tuesday.

Guess what? You guessed it...he messaged me saying that he was in San Jose and wouldn’t be able to make it. He told me the San Jose job was scheduled MONTHS ago but yet he still scheduled me on a day he knew he couldn’t make it.

At this point I’m LIVID I told him he could either give me 50% of the cost of the job back or I would file in small claims court.

That scared him cause he immediately sent someone.

This is where it gets good. He made some drive 1.5 hours to try GOOGONE? obviously it didn’t work because WE ALREADY TRIED THAT. so now the poor man he sent it confused. He doesn’t know what to do. He calls the owner and hands me the phone. I have no shame about this. I WENT OFF. He tried to make it seem like he did the right thing by sending someone. Sending someone with GOO GONE?? He already tried that and knew that I tried acid? if acid didn’t work, GOO GONE sure as heck wouldn’t. I don’t think I have ever been this mad. The guy says, “I’ll come Friday” YEAH RIGHT! I trusted this guy way to many times to come and fix his sloppy work to wait around any longer. We can’t even put our kitchen back together because outlets are missing and there are ugly red and blue marks all over the tile.

The tile with the marks is a loss, it needs to be replaced. He said he would do it, but then never shows up.

Needless to say I will be filing in small claims court tomorrow unless he sends me back 50% of the job cost.

Obviously I can’t tell you what to do, but please don’t hire this company. They are shady, unreliable, and try to make everything everyone else’s fault.

Good customer service would be to move around any schedule you have to FIX MISTAKES at a previous job or to simply show up when you say you will. To cancel 4 times is ridiculous. I have no doubt that if I would have scheduled with him again for Friday, he would have had some excuse and not shown up. He claims that he is honest, reliable, and has integrity, but I promise you...this company is the opposite of that.

*also, the owner always replies to all bad reviews trying to explain how it was the reviews fault. I advise you not to do that. I have photos, videos, and screenshots of messages that are time stamped. This is no ones fault but your own.
