Mr. Cooper’s office is located in Pound Ridge, New York and includes a staff of himself, an associate partner, three assistants and a host of carpenters, masons, and laborers, in addition to various subcontractors.

Having trained and worked with some of the most well-known and influential architects around the world, Douglas M. Cooper began his professional practice in 1989 and has himself received numerous awards and been published in several architectural journals, including “Architectural Record.”

Over the last 20 years, Mr. Cooper has worked in private practice with expertise including project management, speculative housing, and Design/Build, commercial spaces and residential alterations, additions and new construction.

    Roofing project

    Based upon a recommendation from Build Zoom, I hired DMC.,LLC to be thej contractor for a flat roof replacement on my house. I interviewed him and he seemed OK and we signed a contract and I gave him a deposit. I asked if he was insured and he said yes FRAUDULENTLY sending me an email certificiate of insurance which I later found out did not cover him for work on the outside of a house. His roofer that he subcontracted to was according to him also insured.
    On the last day of work he said there was a sudden rain and the roofer didn't tarp the unfinished part of the roof causing 1/2 the house to be flooded.
    The interior floors were warped, some of the furniture couldn't be saved and worst of all there was mold that required mold remediation. 1/2 of the house had to literally be reconstructed after the mold remediation was finished. When I asked him to supply his insurance information he said that he actually wasn't insured and that after 24 years of working with his roofer he didn't realize that he wasn't insured either.
    I have been out of my house for 4 months while all this reconstruction has been taking place. So far the costs of reconstruction etc. have exceeded $100,000. I honestly couldn't recommend this contractor for any work and would highly suggest that your readers stay far away from DOUGLAS MARSHALL COOPER LLC.
