These guys are 100 percent crooks...put 20k down and then decided I won't build. Promised to refund hundreds of times but then disappeared and won't return calls or texts. In process of suing them...RUN FROM THESE GUYS...Jonathan is a crook and liar.

We closed on the house 387 days after the start of construction. No walk through was ever done, no punch list ever completed. As a result this build has run me thousands of dollars over budget. Because the closure was after the first of the year we were unable to deduct interest, unable use the homestead of disability, costing thousands more. But even more bothersome are the significant deficits that have been brought to my attention by two independent inspections.
It appears that there has been little reasonable workmanship, examples of this include: Purlin struts are missing or not backed (roof sagging), improperly installed roof jacks with leakage, improper roof venting and no flashing above doors and windows.
In addition the fitness for habitation of this home is questionable also with: electric lines over gas lines, unsealed gas log lighter pipe penetrating fire box, no firestop in the attic, insulation on the top of the firebox and a terminated vent above stove.
What is the most bothersome issue are the substantial cracks in the concrete on the garage floor and back porch that extend through the grade beams in two areas of the home.
Other issues that still need to be addressed:
1. Disconnected door bell
2. Uninstalled vent fan in master bath.
3. Broken window in front bedroom
4. Fireplace vent needs to be secured.
5. Excess building materials need to be removed.
6. Shudders?
Other substandard items that need to be addressed include incomplete caulking and sealing on exterior walls. No flashing above doors and windows. Missing expansion joints at stucco penetrations around windows. In addition, heating unit did not properly heat, only to 83 degree’s, Rescue air conditioning company needs to return to evaluate the HVAC system and cover connections.
Furthermore I have been receiving calls and letters from the following tradesmen;

STAY FAR AWAY!!!
The slab was poured with multiple points 1-3/4” unlevel in a span of 10-15ft.
The island cabinets had to be redone 3 times because they were not per plan. They tried to make the island smaller.
Our daughter’s closet is too small to hang clothes in. I told them but like most things I was ignored.
They left trash all over the property.
They will plaster signs on every telephone pole in the vicinity of your home.
They tried to get by without doing a cap on the wainscot stone on the front of the house.
They put the baseboards down before the tile floors. I tried to get them to stop that day but they refused.
Then pulled them up after the tile floors were finished because I complained they looked so bad then they put the baseboards on the wall. Problem is now the tile didn’t go to the wall and left a gap, also the floors are so unlevel everywhere that there is a vertical gap also. I said to grout or caulk with grout-colored caulk but they refused and used white caulk. The white caulk is now dirty and cracking over most of the house. He said they didn’t have to do this house like the ones I saw before purchasing.
Throughout the entire process it didn’t seem that the Superintendent was looking at the house at all for workmanship, only progress. I had to find mistakes and issues just before they were covered up then tell them multiple times that they need to be fixed. So either they didn’t look or didn’t care. I should have found very few issues.
Their delivery driver left ruts in my neighbor’s field. They didn’t fix them even after multiple reminders over 2 months. I had to fix them.
The owner lied to me twice about getting me paid for some work that I had contracted out that was to come out of allowance money. I had to hold his last check in order to get paid. The only call he ever returned was when I held his payment until I talked to him.
2 months after closing, I still haven’t received any keys. I had to change all the locks myself.
After multiple request’s I still haven’t received warranty or maintenance paperwork.
My doorbell doesn’t work and they will not work with my schedule to fix it.
This company clearly only cares about getting paid and not the quality of the houses.
The main problem is that the Salesman and Superintendent that built the nice homes that I toured and are on the website no longer work there and they got a new Super from United Built homes that in my opinion has very low quality standards, along with an owner that doesn’t seem to care. -

We had Double K build our home near poteet,tx. Everything went very well considering the style of home we had. Many builders did not want to mess with it. There was a few things here and there but all in all it turned out great. They are building my cousins home down the road, and everything seems to be going good as we'll! We would recommend again.

Jonathan and Josh,
We wanted to send you a quick note to thank you and your crew for building our "little" retirement home. Jeremy is a terrific representative and convinced us to use Double K. Scott was/is a pleasure to work with and solved every problem we brought to him. And all of you were so helpful! We will definitely tell everyone we know about Double K. Thank you again!

Jonathan was great to work with! He worked incredibly hard to keep us within our budget despite our "pie in the sky" ideas. Jonathan's skills as a liaison between owner and sub-contractor were astonishing.

I just finished my home south of San Antonio. I am pleased with the overall process. The salesman helped with the floor plan design. While providing several ideas on how we could get what we wanted and saving money along the way. Also the financing process was helpful as well. The build was something we had not been a part of before being this was our first build. The construction manager was helpful in the explanation of what was happening. There were things that happened, broken windows etc but in the end got everything fixed and we LOVE our new home.

Do not get Double K homes and Jonathan to build your home. He lied, took our money, didn't pay subs, and then wouldn't release us to find someone to finish the project. All of this after loosing our house in Harvey. This guy is a crook and should be in jail!!
