By Cotellia B.September 5, 2021Pull permits to do electric, plumbing, HVAV, and building ay my residence. He quoted me a price of $
On February 25, 2021, I had a conversation with Keith Kersee from Double "K Konstruction about pulling permits to have Electric, HCAV, Building, and plumbing done at my residence. On February 26, 2021, Keith Kersee sent me a text message that said the following: "Hello Cookie, this is Keith. We met last evening about your home situation. The cost for taking on this project is $2,800.00. Should I be on my way to your house." Keith came to my residence on that day and picked up $2,800.00 in cash. Today is September 5, 2021. Mr. Kersee NEVER pulled any permits. He stole/took my money and will not return any of my calls. This was blatant fraud and thievery. I want a total refund of my $2,800.00 Mr. Keith Kersee should not be allowed to steal/swindle consumers out of their money.

The contractor was very knowledgeable within his profession of property restoration and renovation. He also provided insight into possible problems that may occur in other areas.

On October 15, 2022, I entered into a contract with Double "K" Konstruction to upgrade the unfinished
basement of the home I recently purchased. The space is 12'6 x 13.0 ft. so the job was a small one. I
planned to turn the basement into a laundry room. Keith, (the owner) was recommended to me by a
mutual friend so I called him and made an appointment with him to come to my house to see the space.
When we met, I told him what I wanted and he assured me he could be finished by October 28, 2022.
We agreed on a 4-day window, (10/24-10/28) plenty of time to get the job done. I entered into a
contract with him and gave him a $2000 deposit to start the work on the agreed upon date.
When the date came and went, I called to find out what happened. Keith said he'd had some car issues,
but two days after the agreed upon start date (10/26) he called to explain why he was a no show. I
accepted his excuse, but I did take exception to his unprofessional handling of the situation. Still, I was
financially committed so I told him that, as long as the job was finished by Thanksgiving, it was fine. He
showed up and erected the frame for the drywall, then disappeared again. Several days after that, he
put the drywall up, then pulled yet another disappearing act. It was now Thanksgiving, I was expecting
guests, and the job was not completed. I called him repeatedly, and left several messages until finally,
he answered the phone. I was extremely agitated at this point and he told me that he didn't like my
attitude and no longer wanted to deal with me, to which I responded that since he did not honor the
contract I should get part of my deposit back. He hung up and has since stopped all communication with
me.
I finally had to hire someone else to complete the job and the contractor that came to my home
surveyed the work that was done and said that the constructed drywall was placed too far away from
the walls and also, that the configuration of the walls erected to house the washer and dryer was too
small. He had to tear down all the drywall Double "K" put up and start over from scratch.
Double "K" took my deposit, did shoddy work, and did not honor the contract we had. I am seeking the
return of my deposit to be made whole. I am also suing them for court costs and the inconvenience of
having to file a claim against him.
I have pictures of everything to substantiate my complaint.
