Doug Shaw and GS Holdings built my home. I had a poor experience with them. The top issues were around honesty and quality. Regarding honesty, Doug ignored, for years, emails and phone calls about completing items documented from our home inspection, and to date still has not addressed any of them. Regarding quality, expect everything to builders grade and contractors to be inexperienced. He built several homes in Littleton and surrounding areas, and I've met many of the home owners. We've all had similar experiences with him, my recommendation would be to avoid working with him. He has some connections to the town offices, and I believe they allow him to continue to operate to sub-par standards. In a new construction, I have several areas that do not meet code. Code is not something to strive for, it's the lowest bar possible to meet compliance. If you are working with Doug or have concerns, ask him to introduce you to anyone who has purchased one of his homes. My guess is that he will not.
