I contracted this business to replace my classic water heater with a tankless water heater. The quote I received was one of the lowest. The plumber sent to me knew the model I wanted, its features, house sizing requirements, and how to install it.
He was also one of very few who did not panic when I asked for a permit to be pulled from the Building and Construction Dept. of Thousand Oaks City Hall. For some reason, this seems to be an arduous choir for most companies I got quotes from. Dowdy plumbing charged me $200 extra that included the cost of the permit, his time for inspection and 2+ hours the business spent visiting the city hall and filling out the permit application. It was well worth to me not to take time off from work to open the permit myself – something I had no time to do. Dowdy’s price was extremely competitive if not the lowest (unlike the quotes I received from some of the fancy “clowns” in the area) - I had quotes ranging from $5K+ to $12K for the work that cost me $4,200 out-the-door and which included a new Navien water heater, installation, permits, new plastic exhaust required by tankless water heaters, and a so-called comfort valve under the sink at the fixture furthest from the water heater to reduce cold water runoff at the faucet.
I used to help my father run his plumbing business long time ago, so I can attest the highest quality of the workmanship. I liked this business so much I already contracted it twice for other miscellaneous projects around the house.
