By David L.April 22, 2020New Home$250,000
If I could give them a negative rating I would. Strong armed us to using the preferred lender, by forcing us to have their lender run our credit. Over all quality of the house was terrible, doors put in backwards, cabinets crooked, terrible painting in and out, poor laying of flooring, exposed roof underlayment, broken fencing installed, warped sidings installed, and that is just some of what you can see. During the pandemic, wife lost job, they told us they were cancelling because they could not wait for her to get it back. Then when day came to cancel they kept the $2500 deposit and tried to move closing date to make it as we were the cancelling party. Absolutely appalling. Neighbors warned us but we tried to stay with them. DO NOT BUY YOUR HOUSE FROM DREAM FINDERS. Borderline criminal, shady practices. These people deserve the worst karma possible. Terrible on all fronts.

What Is The "Deceptive Trade Practices Act"
The primary purpose of the DTPA is to protect consumers against false, misleading, and deceptive business and insurance practices, unconscionable actions, and breaches of warranty. It does so by prohibiting certain acts and practices that tend to deceive and mislead consumers.Recently started the new home building process with Dream Finders Homes (Austin, TX) at Easton Park and have now canceled the contract based on their sales representative (Gerry Morrison) misguiding, providing erroneous pricing information, and pulling the bait and switch trick! Here's how Dream Finders works: you select elevation, lot, and structural upgrades and then you pay a 1% deposit. You never get to see their standard design products or meet with the design center until you've paid and signed a contract..so now you're screwed if you don't like any of the standard finishes or you pay high premium rates for model finishes (which were conveniently increased two days prior to our first design center appointment and never informed of price increases). Model home went from approximately $460k to $550k in less than two weeks. So if you don't like any design options or can't afford design options you're screwed out of your deposit if you cancel or you have to settle on inferior finishes and live with that for 30yrs.
Additionally, Gerry Morrison was to attend all design center appointments with his clients, however he did not show up nor did he call clients to inform them that he would not attend. Had Gerry be professional and attended as expected, this situation could have been resolved during that meeting and none of this would be happening.
The sales reps (Jennifer Cooper Moyer/Gerry Morrison) have acknowledged that they were in the wrong and stated they understood our position as feeling completely misguided and deceived. However, they don't have any integrity or care enough to do the right thing and return the deposit because they would lose money! Ground has not been broke, construction is not schedule to start until March but yet their concerned about their bottom line. Bottom line: this builder will NOT lose money from the construction/sale of this house as we picked the same structural upgrades as the model, on a $15,000 premium lot, with green belt view.
Thanks for treating a veteran so poorly! I certainly hope anyone considering Easton Park look at other builders. Dream finders is the Dream Crusher! Buyer Beware!
One last thing, Jennifer Cooper Moyer has instructed sales agents not to provide potential clients with pricing sheets as to avoid any further misguidance or expectations. Basically, we did them wrong so now let's not do that again to anyone else.
Recommendations to Dream Finder: reevaluate your sales team at model location, be 100% transparent, and own when you've wronged someone.

Had a really bad experience with Dream Finders. Lots of mistakes during the extremely slow building process. And they will not honor warranty issues once they have you in the home. Buyer beware.
