I contracted with Colorado Dream Spaces on 6-8-20. I wanted a bedroom and bathroom finished in my basement. I looked on Angie’s List and they were recommended for basement finishing. The contract stated that the “project will be completed in 6-8 weeks.” It has now been 18 weeks and it’s not finished!
Jeff, the contractor never communicated with me in regards to the status of the project. It was up to me to reach out to him for any explanations on all of the delays. In addition, he never took responsibility It was always someone else who was responsible. His patronizing attitude was offensive. On several significant delays he was directly responsible, usually because he was busy or not available. This includes one of the inspections, when the drywall was delivered but they couldn’t leave it, and most recently his failure to order hardware and faucets in a timely manner.
In addition, the contract stated that “the contractor shall prevent excessive accumulation of debris and be responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe environment”. Jeff has failed to even once have the construction debris cleaned up. When I have asked him about it he again evades his responsibility and says it’s because he couldn’t have a dumpster. When I remind him that I offered to have it located in my garage he will drop the subject. Just another example of his lack of responsibility causing delays. It has been 18 weeks and the environment in my basement and outside in my yard is not safe or healthy! 2 days ago we had to turn on the furnace causing construction dust and cement dust to come out of every heating vent. Due to the unsafe and unhealthy situation I had to pay for the debris to be removed.
It’s ironic that Halloween is coming because this project has been a nightmare. I would not recommend him for any project.

I have used Colorado Dream Spaces for several projects in my old, and new house. He put flooring in my old house and did an impeccable job and in a timely fashion. Shortly after that, we had a roof leak that caused major damage in my house and ruined part of the new flooring. He was out the next day to put a cover over it in an attempt to prevent further damage. He worked with my insurance to get everything replaced and updated even. It allowed us to be able to sell the house for a great deal more than was owed on it. When we moved to our new house, he finished our basement and was very timely and adhered to the schedule pretty closely, especially considering some of the trades he had to replace during our project. He took into consideration all of our ideas and made the basement a wonderful place for our family to enjoy movies and play pool.
