Driveways by Diaz

We had a contract and paid for 5 1/2 - 6" of hot mix black top. They came, stood around on their phones, smoked cigarettes and threw them in the mix, and left within 45 minutes. The job looked terrible. We received about 3" of hot mix black top, instead of what we were quoted. Within a few months, our driveway started cracking and breaking up, grass constantly grows up through it, even my sons kick stand to his bike sunk into the black top about an inch just from sitting on the driveway for maybe 20 minutes. I have called repeatedly with no resolution. The owner, Diaz himself has promised to come out a total of 6 times at this point and never shows up to fix it. Look at all the reviews before you choose this company. Diaz has an F rating with the BBB. Beware!

Diaz was hired to blacktop our driveway. The contract was for 4" of hot mix blacktop. The job looked ok at completion. However, a year after install we have multiple spots breaking up. We could tell by the spots that were broken up that we only got about 2 1/2" of blacktop instead of the 4" quoted. It took half a year of calling them to come back and repair the spots - but we still only have 2 1/2", not the 4" we paid for. Now we have a patchwork driveway and I'm not confident what we have will hold up.

This company is a rip-off. The final finish job of laying hot mix blacktop looks very poor! The curb appeal looks horrible the way it was finished without sealer on it. Diaz, the owner, has been contacted by multiple means and refuses to finish up the job properly. I would NOT recommend this company. Price is high, quality is poor.
