David Thompson, Jr, DRT Works, LLC took more than $42,000 and many months of our lives. He was hired to construct a large (6ft tall) retaining wall, a 2+ car garage, and a driveway. After many months of frustration, Mr. Thompson abandoned the job, leaving us with a severely damaged garage slab, as well as an un-permitted retaining wall that is a very poorly constructed eyesore and retains nothing. In fact, along with his extremely poor job of grading, it directs water and mud directly over the top of it and toward the house every time it rains. (See photos) His failure to get the required permit to build the retaining wall and shoddy workmanship ultimately led to the necessity of completely tearing it down and replacing it. In addition, the garage slab, if not also torn out and replaced, will require thousands of dollars in repairs. Not only was David Thompson extremely unprofessional in his work, but in how he conducted himself while addressing our concerns and questions as customers. This contractor does not know what he is doing. He lies about his experience and skills. He is belligerent if called out on his incompetent and shoddy workmanship. He has no conscience taking large amounts of money for work he cannot properly complete. And then leaves you holding the bag. Our strong recommendation - Do NOT use this contractor.
