I contracted with DW Enterprises to connect my water line and new meter to the Forestville Water District water main. Doug Wood and his crew carefully dug a 20-foot trench 6 feet deep to the middle of the road, and used a Ditch Witch vacuum excavator for the final area around the water main. They also had to dig under a gas main. They used a chipping gun to carefully cut away the concrete casing around the 10 inch steel water main. Then they installed an iron saddle over the water main and tapped into the water main under pressure, without shutting off any valves. A PE pipe now connects the main to our meter, located outside our property line, and Doug installed a separate cutoff main valve just inside our property line. The road cut was filled with gravel, according to County building code, compacted, covered with rolled asphalt, and the work area carefully swept clean. The entire project was completed in one day, with minimum disruption to the neighborhood. Doug brought a full crew, all necessary equipment, and 40+ years of experience to the job. I would recommend DW Enterprises without reservation for any engineering and excavation work.
