DEYLAN WALKER, owner of DW Group Construction Co. of Dallas, TX is NOT to be trusted. My family entered into a contract with him in May of 2018 to replace our residential roof and provided him over half of the total estimate via check only to be scammed. We asked him for a firm start date being that he was provided a check totaling over $12,000 and he had yet to commit to beginning work nor had any bit of materials been seen for the roofing work he was contracted to do. Most of his communication was either to our insurance company, often hounding them on claim status, or to us, to see if we had gotten the insurance check. We last spoke with him on August 2nd when he refused to begin work unless an additional $4,000 was provided. We declined stating that if he began work the next week we would give him additional funds. He countered that he could not trust us to pay him the money once all of the work was completed and thus wanted it up front. We looked up general contracting practices and recognize it is customary for them to receive a portion up front which we provided but we were unwilling to give him all of the money considering things were beginning to look shady on his part. Needless to say, we have not heard from him. We did reach out to him via email, phone call and texts to no answers. We asked him to return the money. There has been no return communication. He has not returned the money. He has not purchased any materials to my knowledge and certainly has not performed any work on my residential roof.
I firmly recommend any and everyone to NOT enter into business with this individual. He has been blacklisted by my insurance company and I intend to spread the word so that other people will not fall victim to his devious scamming.
