I signed a Contract with Timothy J Einsig of East Coast Basement and Construction to do work on my house on 6/28/2019. This has been my worst contracting nightmare ever! He started working on my house with a $4000 deposit to seal my basement which was flooding when it rained. He started work on 07/01/19. He did pour concrete at the front, covered the old coal chute but that was it. He was to repair and tile/brick the front of the house. Not done. He was to waterproof and paint the front of the basement. Not done. He was to repair my steps, he claimed by front steps would remain bull-nosed, popular in Philly. no bull nose. He just threw layers of cement on my steps. The steps in the rear are still cracked. Oh, that just needs another coat of cement, he said. (since 7/01/19)). July 4th, he got more money, $1650, because he said the outer side basement wall needed to be waterproofed as well. The inside wall was damp and needed to be treated. So he ripped off the paneling on the outer wall and the side leading to the basement steps. That was all he has done so far. 8/25/19, Mr. Smooth Talker said he was ready to start working on the basement. For the mere price of $1000.00, he could frame out a bathroom. He was to point my house as included in the original contract. He only did part of side of the house.
9/14/19 he is asking for a check for the rest of cement and labor so that his crew can finish the pointing the next day.
The original contract was for $5700. He received $4000 deposit. He got another $1650 to do the side wall of the basement. Not touched. He received another $1000 to frame a bathroom, not done. He has more money than the original contract and has not completed a single item that was contracted for yet he wanted the remaining $1700. He offered to sign whatever paperwork I could come up with, if only I would give him the remaining $1700. I did not and Tim Einsig of East Coast Basement and Contracting has refused to finish the work he took my hard earned money to complete.
The facts speak themselves, he started working on my house on 7/01/19, it is not finished. If you need excuses for any reason or occasion, Tim is your man.
(the neighbors would not let me work/give me permission to park my huge tractor-trailer/I could not get to the back of your house/it was raining/I have walking pneumonia/my diabetes was acting up/the truck had a flat tire.etc
I was hoping to be able to add pictures so the wonderful work done by Tim J Einsig from East Coast Basement and Construction could be shown for all to see and pictures are worth a thousand words but I don't see how to upload them.
He cannot give a reason (valid or invalid) for why the work is not done. He just makes excuses, during a failed mediation on 10/24/19 he started shrieking that I was bullying him and speak to him as if her were my husband or son and it was my fault for not investigating him, doing my due diligence before letting him in my house. He refuses to return my money. (remember, he told me that he ran out of money) He did not say what became of the $1650, but claims he spent the $1000 on bathroom items and could not return them as 30 days had elapsed. (he did not bring any of the nonrefundable "purchased" items to my home). And when he does work, he observes modified bankers' hours. He shows up between 9 & 10 am and leaves before 4 pm.
Beware: I have found him to be a fraud a fake and a phony who will say anything to get your money. Now I have to sue him to get my hard earned money back.
He likes to throw out names. For example, he bragged that his lawyer is Perri Fortunato. He is a criminal lawyer; which prompted me Google Mr. EIisig's name. I should have googled before him before I gave him a dime of my hard earned money.
I would not recommend him.

Pictures are available.Response from East Coast Basement & Construction T/a Timothy J Einsig October 30, 2019Dear Yvonne, I am sorry you feel I am a liar but as I see it your story is not full of the facts. Our contract consisted of Waterproofing outside front wall, Cement 1 block and 1/2 in front, Furnish & Install stone, repair 2 sets of steps(front & back), pressure wash side of house, repoint brickwork on side of house, repair cracked steps in rear driveway, repair window ledge with new concrete, paint steps & slab on side of house. We had no contract for basement work. These are the only items on our contract so all the other repairs I did was for you at NO COST and you never paid me for. Expecting all the work for nothing. So you made out well in this situation. Please get the help you need. God Bless You. I hope you don't do this to another contractor.
