    Emery was great, until the service was completed and he was paid. They didn't prime my pool properly. I then cleaned the filters myself(they should have at least looked at them.) when I cleaned the filters there was a dead animal decaying in the filters. If I didn't check this, contaminated water would have circulated through my pool indefinitely. You get what you pay for. This is a good indicator why their service is so cheap. Emery will not return or answer my calls at this point. I have contacted the bank to dispute the charge and the BBB. the division of consumer affairs has been notified as well. He is performing illegal work as his licence is expired (13vh07665500). Do not use this company.

    I am new to owning a pool. The pool we have was installed with no further direction about its upkeep and maintance. After asking a good source, I called Emery from EJ Pools with my questions and concerns, he came to see my dilemma, answered all my questions and concerns! My dilemma was fixed and now my pool is crystal clear! Emery and his colleagues are very polite and professional and ready willing to help no matter how busy they are!!! They come highly recommended and through my own experience I can now HIGHLY RECOMMEND EMERY AND HIS COLLEAGUES!!!

    Suggest strongly you do not use this contractor. Very poor business man and even worse team of technicians.
    I used Emery the past two years to open and close my in ground pool and up until now they were okay. Unfortunately this springs pool opening was a complete disaster. The technicians he sent forgot to take out the winterized plugs in both skimmers leaving the pump running which eventually damaged the unit forcing me to replace it. I guess the embarrassment was too much and I couldn't get Emery to come back and complete the rebuilding of the DE Filter he started. I had already paid him in full and left him several VM's and texts that I would pay him an additional fee just to come back. He never responded. I feel very foolish now because I did not want to be bothered changing pool services. He forced me to change to Central Jersey and the season got back on track. I am only sorry I didn't take him to small claims. Also not surprised by all the bad reviews he has gotten.

    Do not use this company!!!!! I called them a week prior to opening our pool and left a message asking for the pool to be opened on Friday. I have never used anyone before but heard he was from a nearby town and I like to go with the self made businesses. He returned my call saying Friday would be good and to please call back. I did on that Thursday. He said he could do it for the next day. He would drop off pool cover pump early friday then come back to open the pool. We waited all day Friday. He said team had gone to Howell with the pump. He was sorry and would get it here asap. Never Happened! Saturday came. Left message. Then at 11:00 I texted him saying that I was leaving for a bit and that I was getting worried about the pool being ready in time for my daughters' graduation/birthday party. No answer. I called and EJ answered. He claimed he couldn't leave the pump because it could start sucking up the pool water. I said that I didn't understand then he hung up on me. I called back and asked if we were disconnected or did he hang up on me. He then told me he hung up on me and then cursed at me about how busy he was. When I said hold on a minute I'm not cursing at you, he said when did I curse? I then said that I guess he does not want the job and he again hung up on me. Very unprofessional!!!! Go with JB Pool Shack, Hazlet! Small business,local, and great family! I went in there crying and came out smiling.

    Emery McPartland cleaned my gutters and downspouts in early December 2016. He and his crew did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves too. He actually did the job for less than the price we had agreed upon because there was less debris than he had expected. That kind of honesty and integrity is almost unheard of these days! I highly recommend Emery McPartland!

    E J pools did a fantastic job installing my new 18 ft above ground pool liner. I contacted him in the beginning of may ( prime pool opening season ) asking to take a look at the project. He came the same day. I explained that I wasn't very happy with other contractors who didn't want to take to time to come out to my home. I was glad he came out to discuss the scope of the project. I as the home owner didn't want to be surprised with hidden cost, nor did I want to put burden on the contractor with change this and fix that. I say leave the work to the professionals. I see there has been a few bad reviews but from my stand point, I have not had any issues so far. Remember people contacting pool contractors in May to do work in May can be full of delays due to weather and scheduling. I never gave one penny ahead of time, I offered to put down a deposit he told me no, not to the job was completed and I was satisfied. I purchased the liner myself after he measured my pool twice. once when he first came out and the week before starting the project. today is June 16th my pool is being filled as we speak. Jonathan and Carlos was the team who did the work at my home. Emery and his team went beyond just the liner. I had purchased a new filter system that had to be converted. The old system was hard lined in place. The Team noticed rust in certain spots reported it to Emery and he contacted me right away on a solution. Folks remember there was no one at the house baby sitting these guys. They could have just installed the liner and I would have never known. When I did get home I seen the rust and they were applying the fix that I had agreed upon. In closing I did verify that he does have a valid license through 2017. I had a discussion about some of the bad press he has received and I told him I would not hesitate to write a review on my experience. I will use this company for any pool issues going forward.     EJ pools "Emery" the best Pool man Ever!
    Totally trustworthy, his company has been working with us over 8 years. He always goes above n beyond with every job!
    Had a problem with my pool (other vendor) that was serious called Emery and he came out after hours did the repair "great price" and we have never hired anyone else since. I highly recommend EJ pool!

    Poor Pool Service

    His employees showed up three hour late I guess they don''t know how to use their GPS on their smart phone. EJ was originally suppose to come a week before but canceled at the last minute claimed bad weather it was raining slight and a little windy but not that bad. When his employees did finally show up they did not even have an extension cord to plug in their compressor to blow out the lines I had to get them an extension cord so they could do their job. I also had to find a roll of teflon tape so they could install the gizmos in the skimmers. I would not recommend EJ Pools and Spas AKA Emory McPartland.

He came with a very good price be carefull you pay for what you get, pool is still not working googled his name has a Middletown address went to there the white ford pickup and a motorcycle was in the driveway no answer! be very careful with this guy

    Used EJ Pools for installation of new above ground pool liner, filter and pump. They showed up as promised and finished the job in a timely manner. All issues which arose during the installation were taken care of to my liking.

    Took our money. Never finished the job. Pool is still not usable 8 days after opening. We are out $600. I deeply regret hiring him and moreso paying him. DO NOT USE HIM. HE IS HORRIBLE.
