Ask for a committed quote before service. Very pleased with the quality and service for the work done but astonished at the cost of the work performed. We should have first asked for a quote before the work was done. The typical cost for installation of an outlet in our area is $150-$200 with electrician labor rates of $50-$100/ hour. The rate charged was $180/hour with materials at $150. The 20 Amp Double Pole Type QPF2 GFCI Circuit Breaker is $77 at Home Depot and the photo cells run about $10. With other materials this charge should have no more than $100. At the very high end in our area labor rates of $100/hour we expected a bill of no more than $300. The bill we paid was 183% of this, not quite double.
