Jim came out on routine check-up. He did his inspection and informed me that for the age of my furnace it was actually in good condition! He suggested yearly check-ups for preventive maintenance. What Jim didn't know was that an agent from another HVAC company had came by and RED TAG me! He actually turned off my gas line and told me it was dangerous to stay in the house! I took the tech serious at 1st until i asked him why? The bad tech told me that my furnace was leaking CO2. He then told me that I needed a whole new furnace. I asked how much CO2 was leaking? Bad tech said 0.03 parts per million. I then stated that you need at least 40.0 parts per million to be unsafe. He asked where did i hear this? i said it's on my CO2 detector! I payed my $39 checkup fee and asked him to leave. That's when i called Elgin Sheet Metal for 2nd opinion. Jim came and did what he does best! He told me he's been doing this for 27 years and never RED TAG anyone. Thank you Jim and Elgin Sheet Metal for having standup employees.
