On 5/18/15 I excepted a bid for roof repair and fascia board replace from elite roofing. Matthew Hermes is who I signed papers with. At time of signing, I explained I split my time between home which work was to be done and Texas. I ask if there would be any problem getting work done while I was in town. He said no they average a roof a day and he had several teams to do work. I was under the impression that work would be done with in that two week period, however, supplies were not delivered Until July 12th. I had left for Texas. I told him my next time schedule time would be two weeks following July 25th. He said OK no problem. When I made it to house some supplies had been reclaimed from my home to use on another home. I texted several time over the two weeks, only to be given excuse after excuse. First his phone was messing up. Then death in family. Then they were working in Houston at that time. I went back to Texas and informed him on August 18th that I would be back in town August 31st. He said roofers no problem but carpenter for woodwork (fascia board) is what he was working on. Again no show for work. Several messages unanswered. Back to Texas and informed him of my next opening Sept 21st - October 4th. Repeated message because of no response. This time he blamed the delay of work getting done on me for going out of town. Which would have been fine if I had not told him upfront of my schedule and he agreed it would not be a problem. Then on Sept 22 he sent text saying they would be there in morning to do roof. Two men did show up the next morning. They did not speak English so there was little to no communication other than jesters. They started work after running over three of my bushes with their trailer and truck. (The bushes are now dead). The old roof was removed, but it took all that day. (One worker pulled out an old cushion and slept in my front yard off and on all day). The everyday was slow paced with naps in front yard and on roof. Now for quality of work another huge issue. When scrapping roof I could see places they scrapped to deep and stripped off pieces of wood along with old roof. As new shingles were brought onto roof they were dropped so hard that pictures came of the walls in three rooms. Then instead of replacing all vent covers with new ones, I later found spray paint cans that had been used to paint old vents to make them look like new ones. I had discussed with Matthew Hermes my concern of replacing all covers, because they were where leaks had started. I was assured they would be replacing all of them. Biggest problem is when fascia board was replaced it was done with new board that was much shorter. Originally 7" replaced with 5 1/2" boards. And the work was not done by carpenter, but by the roofers. I texted Matthew Hermes and told him this was not acceptable because there were gaps and short boards did not protect under vents from rain. He said he told the guys to hang them low. Then he said he had a cover to put over them to make up on missing length. He said. He would be back personally to put up covers and correct the gaps. He said he would not leave my house in this shape. Guess what he lied! He never showed up. He stopped answering text for a period. Then when I text him that I was reporting him to BBB he ask who I was. Then apologized and said he would be out to do work and make things right. But again no show. The problem now is finding someone to correct the damage he did. No one has been willing to work on fascia board unless it is before they replace the roof.
