I would like to share my experience and warn people who may want to receive service from Tracy Ely and his construction company or any contractor who may be thinking of working under Tracy. He offered what he called a "High End Project owned by some rich asians" he was very much outspoken about the kind of money he was making off this project and the his clients race, as if they would be factors for us in our bidding process. Nevertheless we bided a fair amount to detail clean this home where we were allowed two days as a limit. He agreed to go forward and request d is to clean an area of the house a week before our original proposal. He said the owners need to move some furniture in to a couple rooms before the actual cleaning day. We did and he promised a $500 fee to do pre cleaning." For those areas. The invoice was generated and sent May 31 2017 and today is August 31 2017 Tracy has avoided every single call, email and USPS mail notice of late payment.
The second item to be aware is he has a tendency to "check out" female crew members. We brought in a team of 9 and 8 were females, two were constantly followed around by him and his handyman. They felt uncomfortable and it was noted within the first hour of our start time. Tracy asked his handyman to ask one of my crew if she was single among other questions that were more personal than work related. This female crew member quit working for us the next day. We were warned by the painters to "be on our toes" with Tracy, they said he had a very nasty attitude and demanding to the point where people didn't want to show up to work anymore. I finally got to experience is attitude on our second day of service. Towards the end of our clean he claimed "Nothing in the house had been touched" he said everything was dirty and he would have been better off to hire some "illegals" at Home Depot and then I got the feeling he was trying to get out of paying the invoice. Sure enough and long story short he refused to pay unless we returned to clean the entire house again. I made the call to give him a third day of service no extra charge and on that third day he came in and said he made a big list of things to do, he was yelling and cussing and throwing things and slapping walls and cabinetry and making a big scene in front of my employees. He threatened to have everything done by the time he returned or else we would not get paid. In fact he never returned and a young lady showed up with a hand written check that was only enough to pay for part of the services leaving this balance left and her statement was "I was not authorized to pay any additional amount"
Still no calls or emails and we think the right thing to do is to place a mechanical lien on this particular property to try and secure a remaining balance.
I urge people research before they hire people like him.
