This company lists residential snow removal services as one of their offerings on their website. As such, I reached out to them when the landscaper who normally plows my 87 year old dad's driveway did not attend to his driveway within 72 days after a Nor'easter which dropped 22" of snow in north NJ.
Since my dad was growing impatient and started to shovel the snow himself (which we stopped him from doing), I emailed this company regarding our immediate and future needs. I will say, however, how extremely impressed I was with how quickly they responded to my inquiry.
We discussed the situation and I asked to them to meet me at my dad's house to look at the property and provide a quote. At that point, I was asked how big the driveway was and how much I currently pay. I told him the driveway was relatively small and the current charge was $50. I also said I would expect the price to be higher as the amount of snow to be removed was much larger than normal. At that point I was told they would need at least $300 to plow the driveway. I didn't think I heard him right so I asked him to repeat the quote. He repeated $300. I told them that ain't happening and we discontinued the conversation. My sister, in turn, reached out to one of our brother's friend who in turn reached out to someone he knew that owned an excavation business who did snow plowing. He came right over and plowed the driveway and shoveled the driveway - guess how much he charged - $50. He is now our new guy!
My impression of Empire Property Services is that this company either has unrealistic expectations of what their services are worth or will knowingly try to gouge you if they believe you are desperate enough for their services.
