Best Solar Installer!
In short, I wish I would have called Kurt years ago. Kurt and his crew are great. I will refer anyone I know to him and suggest that at the very least you call him for a quote.
Details:
I have been thinking about installing solar for a couple years. I received 2 – 3 quotes a year for the past couple years but had concerns with the setup plans and was not convinced it was a good investment. I wanted the panels on a ground mount away from the house. Installers either insisted that they be placed on my roof or in my front yard. Both options would require me to cut down mature black walnut or crimson maple trees. One installer even just gave me a price range from looking at Google maps and said I would need to sign a contract for him to come onsite and give a set price.
When I called Kurt from ECW, he found a time within a week to come out to my house. He listened to everything I wanted and did not just tell me what to do. We walked around the house and barn so he could see my service and where I wanted the panels. He said I could put the ground mount where I preferred but as the white pines to the south grow, they could start blocking the panels in 10 years or so. He showed me alternate options to place the ground mount where nothing was in the way so I had options to consider.
I also had concerns about how the production was monitored since I have run into issues with WE Energies in the past. Kurt showed me how I can monitor the production in real time from an app. I can see the production over any date range I choose and by individual panel. I also get warnings if there are issues with a certain panel.
I knew right away that I could trust Kurt and did not want to call anyone else. I took a week or so to think about it and decided it was the right choice for me. I let Kurt know that I wanted to go ahead with the project and use the location he suggested for the ground mount.
Kurt has a crew as great as him. I stopped out to talk to them each time people were onsite. They asked me where I preferred them to drive the machinery across the grass to auger the holes for the pylon footers to make sure it was okay. They were all considerate, easy to talk to, and seemed to be very knowledgeable. They also seem to get along well and enjoy what they do so they care about the end result.
