By Lori M.January 30, 2020Renovation of a home and New construction Home$250,000
EPG has completed several projects for me. First, they renovated a rental house from top to bottom. Evan's knowledge and advice throughout the project helped to keep us on track. After this project and how well it went, EPG built a home for us. His project manager, Heath, was very organized and always kept us informed about the progress. They walked us through the building process and were available for questions and advice. Evan is very communicative and responsive and exceeded our expectations. We already have plans for him to build more investment properties for us in the future!
EPG Homes is our go to builder! -

This is our second home with EPG enough said! Customer service was the best I ever dealt with. EPG went out their way to accommodate all of our requests and needs. We were in a rush to move into our second home, when we ask if it could be done in our time period EPG was more than able to meet our standards and needs. The quality and detail was amazing with the time provided. EPG is my first recommendation to anyone needing new construction or remodels.

Having worked with many builders in the past, I can wholeheartedly say that you absolutely WILL NOT find a builder who cares more about his customers and his finished-product than Evan Greene with EPG Homes. He cares more about making a customer for life than making a few extra bucks on your home and it is evident throughout the entire build process. He isn't afraid to speak up and tell you when you are spending too little or even too much on any one area of the home that he doesn't see the pay-back in resale value. (At times, I definitely needed to be pulled back to reality with my wish-list and he did so ever so gently without making me feel crazy about wanting what I wanted!) I really appreciate his suggestions for how to save some money here and there without compromising the integrity or aesthetics of the build. I know many people who have built multiple homes with EPG Homes and that should speak for itself. Evan Greene started building homes at a young age and has more knowledge about building at the ripe age of 30-something than most contractors do at the age of 50-60. I cannot recommend EPG Homes (Evan AND Heath) enough!

I can not recommend EPG Homes more enthusiastically! We built a downsized retirement home for our new simplified life, but wanted it to be a quality home with all the amenities important to us. Evan listened to all our choices and concerns and more than exceeded our wishes!
The kitchen, baths and wood floors look like a home that cost 3 times as much. The great up to date lighting choices that Evan uses looks like they came from a design website. The quality you get for your money with EPG homes is absolutely amazing. Thank you Evan Greene for creating our final forever home and following thru on all your commitments!

We contracted EPG Homes and John Paul Greene to build our custom home on signal Mountain. We have been very disappointed in the attention to detail and the quality of their contractors. The following is a summary of some of the issues:
1. our contract had a completion date of September 2018, we did not move in until April 2019
2. Per the contract, we were to receive monthly "Itemized monthly billings, not just summaries by category. We have still not received and detailed receipts and invoices that we requested
3. We have issues with our driveway that the builder said would eventually go away.
We had several cement contractors and eventually a certified engineer review the problem. According to a certified engineers report: " The finishers probably added water and additional concrete to smooth out the surface. When the concrete dried, and additional concrete color was different and numerous surface cracks developed in the cement. The resulting discoloration thus occurs at an overworked cement area called a cold joint". "There is also evidence of cement used to finish the edge of the concrete driveway". "A concrete spall has recently developed at the cold joint location". " The concrete paving appears to be "fibercrete"without any wire reinforcing"
4. It took over 4 months for them to repair a water leak in the main supply line to the house costing us over $500 in additional water charges. We eventually got reimbursed by TVA.
5. According to the same engineer report, we potentially have joists causing wooden floor to buckle 1/2". The builder wanted to sand down 3/4' hardwood floors to resolve the problem. That would leave 1/4" thick floor, and would not fix the problem according to the engineers report. The beams are the problem, not the hardwood floors.
6. While in the attic, we discovered hvac vents that were not connected and vents for the gas fireplace not connected properly allowing fumes to accumulate in the attic. We had to contact the HVAC contractor directly to resolve. A basic visual inspection by the builder should have identified this prior to us taking possession of the home.
7. Stones around fireplace that have color and size variations
8. A vanity that was plumbed with a flex pipe connecting the trap to the drain connection. There is also a large opening under the vanity exposing the plumbing and wall internalsWe have live in the house for 7 months and still have issues that need to be resolved. We have spent over $5,000 in attorney fees to try to get these issues resolved.
The following link will take you to my facebook page that contains pictures of some of the issues:

EPG homes built me a home that is exactly what I wanted it to be and that is because of Evan and Heath! I never imagined I would find this house with such top of the line finishes at the price they provide! The process of working with EPG homes was easy and there ability to make a stressful process, stress free was great as a first time home buyer.
I recommend EPG Homes and I plan on having them build my next home!

Could not be happier with the house Evan and his team built for us in Perry Village. We felt included throughout the entire process. Evan and Heath were incredibly easy to reach and always insightful when we had questions. They rocked and we highly recommend EPG Homes.

Epg Homes built our first house 4 years ago when my wife and I first moved to Chattanooga. We never had an issue and absolutely loved our home.
We recently decided to upsize and build a new house for our growing family. We contacted Epg again and told them exactly what we wanted. They gave us a fair price and a realistic timeline for completion. During the construction phase they were very patient and always stayed in contact with us, continuously giving updates on their progress.
We definitely recommend Epg Homes!

Evan and his team at EPG are simply the best! It is so refreshing to deal with a builder who really care about the quality of construction and follows through on what he says he will do. I recommend EPG often, and will continue to do so!
