I would not recommend this contractor. He quoted us an initial estimation of $88K for the addition of a two-car garage and a covered back patio. As you can see in the city permit, the valuation of the project is listed as $91K. Over the course of 2.5 years, he continuously inflated his prices to over $165K for the same work that was quoted at the beginning plus the additional finishing of a room that was already framed (which shouldn't have doubled the price of the initial additions). Instead of finishing the work and repairing some shoddy work that he had done, he charged us more. When we stopped paying him, he then sued us for another $49K above the $165 that we had already paid. In mediation, we ended up paying him $7.5K just to go away. We finished the project ourselves with other contractors, spending even more money. Mr. Anthony comes off as quite charming initially, but beware. He is unreliable and untrustworthy. We are not the only customers who have been dissatisfied with him. You can look him up in the Beaufort County public records. He spends as much time in court being sued, or suing, as he does working.
