ORDERED LATHAM GENESIS FIBERGLASS POOL IN OCTOBER OF 2020. WAS TOLD START DATE WOULD BE LATE APRIL EARLY MAY 2021. PROJECT STARTED 1ST OF MAY. THE CREW CAME OUT, BUILT WALL & DUG OUT POOL. THIS POOL IS 41' X 16' WITH 8 1/2' DEEP END. BEAUTIFUL POOL. PROJECT DIDN'T FINISH UNTIL 1ST PART OF JULY, BUT KC POOLS NOT AT FAULT. AFTER HOLE DUG, WEEKEND BEFORE POOL SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE & DROP IN GROUND, RECEIVED 5" RAIN. THE HOLE FILLED WITH WATER RUNNING OVER BECAUSE OF THE WAY MY GROUND LAYS, & CAVED IN THE SIDES OF THE HOLE. POOL ARRIVED & CRANE TRUCK HAD TO SET POOL OFF TO SIDE. THREE WEEKS LATER STILL WAITING FOR GROUND TO DRY UP, CREW CAME OUT TO REDIG HOLE, FELT SORRY FOR THEM. THEY HAD A HELL OF A TIME GETTING IN THERE & DIGGING, BUT THEY DID GET IT DUG & WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO SEE POOL GO IN. THEY WORKED BEST THEY COULD BECAUSE WE HAD ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS OF BAD WEATHER. HAD EXTRA CONCRETE POURED & POOL TURNED OUT GREAT. THE CREW DID GREAT JOB ON CONCRETE. I LIKE HOW THEY USE THERE OWN CREWS FOR CONCRETE & COMPLETE JOB. A FRIEND OF MINE ORDERED A POOL THRU ANOTHER KANSAS CITY POOL COMPANY, & I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COMPARE. SO HAPPY I CHOSE KC POOLS. WILL NOT NAME OTHER COMPANY, BUT MY FRIENDS HAVE HAD A NIGHTMARE, & AS OF TODAY, 11/3/21, THEIR POOL NOT FINISHED & THEY ORDERED THE SAME TIME I DID. KC POOLS UPON COMPLETION OF CONCRETE, DRAINED, SCRUBBED, CLEANED MY POOL & WE FILLED WITH FRESH WATER. THEY POURED IN CHEMICALS NEEDED TO START & GOT US ON RIGHT TRACK. USED POOL JULY, AUGUST, & 3/4 OF SEPTEMBER. IN THAT TIME, THE ONLY CHEMICALS NEEDED WAS DRY ACID TO REGULATE PH & ALKALINITY, & 1 BAG OF SALT. WE HAD CONTROL OF THE WATER THE WHOLE TIME & IT STAYED SPARKLING CLEAN. MY FRIEND'S POOL COMPANY POURED THE CONCRETE, THEN WASN'T SEEN FOR 3 WEEKS. WATER IN POOL WAS TERRIBLE. THEY FINALLY INSTALLED PUMP SYSTEM, BUT SAID THEY DO NOT DRAIN & SCRUB POOL. INSTEAD THEY TURNED ON THE PUMP SYSTEM & CYCLED ALL THE CRAP THRU THE FILTER. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER THE LAST MONTH, & THEY HAVE HAD TO BACKWASH FILTER EVERY OTHER DAY. POOL STILL NOT CLEAN & WATER NOT MUCH BETTER. NOW MY WIFE & I ARE EVEN HAPPIER WE CHOSE KC POOLS. KC CAME OUT & INSTALLED COVER AS PROMISED, & CLOSED POOL. THOUGHT I WOULD CLOSE & OPEN POOL FROM THEN ON, BUT AFTER SEEING THE CARE THEY TOOK IN CLOSING, & FOR THE PRICE THEY CHARGE TO OPEN & CLOSE POOL, WILL USE KC POOLS FROM NOW ON. MY FRIENDS EVEN SAID AFTER WATCHING, THAT IF THEIR POOL EVER GETS FINISHED, THEY WILL BE USING KC POOLS ALSO. THRU ALL THE PROCESS OF EXTRA TIME, EXTRA CRANE TRUCK & ALL, NEVER WAS CHARGED EXTRA. THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY FAIR FOR WHAT KC POLLS HAD TO GO THRU WITH THE WEATHER & CONDITIONS TO COMPLETE THE JOB. MY WIFE ABSOLUTELY LOVES THE POOL. WE HAD A LOT OF GOOD TIMES THIS YEAR IN THE SHORT TIME WE USED THE POOL, BUT LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR. THANK YOU BOB & JORDAN.

Esther Williams is wonderful to work with. I recently contracted with them to put in a free-form fiberglass pool in my back yard. The owner is a terrific gentleman who walked me through every step of what seemed to be a daunting project. He answered all of my questions, was very flexible with project start dates and extremely available, involved and helpful. The crew was courteous and efficient and led by a very knowledgeable man who kept me informed every day as to what would be happening that day and what to expect. The entire project took just around 2 weeks from start to finish - I assumed it would take much longer. The crew showed up timely every day and went straight to work wasting no time and as I mentioned always keeping me apprised and informed and answered all my questions through the project. The whole thing went so smoothly and was done before I knew it. I got exactly the pool I wanted at the price quoted to me up front. Everyone was very helpful throughout and I'm so glad I used Esther Williams for my project. I'm working on the landscaping now but all my neighbors have already stopped by to compliment how great the pool looks and what a great addition it is to the yard. I would recommend Esther Williams to anyone considering pool construction.

I found this was a consistent pattern from others as well and likely what you will experience.
I think you should find another firm for new pool construction.
Generally, an unpleasant experience. The final product is done with quality, but the project management, communication, and organization are extremely bad.
You are on the hook for electrical and, for the higher end configurations, I am not aware they know how it works. You will get incorrect info, old info, or no info. I simply got lucky having the auto cover company being there with my electrician. I don’t think it would ever have been correct without that happy accident.
Expect to work from home often as they will keep going without consulting with you or aligning with you and may consider charging for changes. You will never know what is going to happen and what is left. There literally is no plan. As a customer, expect to be the project manager as no one else will.
I suggested a 5-10 min discussion on what would happen each week would go a long way and the Owner felt that was just too much work for his team. I have it in an email
We have an aesthetic flaw in the concrete and was directly related poor communication and planning. So, we are stuck with it forever. In addition, the automatic liner install was a mess like other steps as there is no one around from KC pools when the subcontractor discovered and issue. The installer told me what they would do and that was the opposite we got from KC Pools.
2 months before the pool was to be hooked up and turned on for the first time, they asked for final payment before documented items were done. I fought them a bit but gave up and paid just so I didn’t have to deal with them anymore.
Oh, and the contract says they will “machine grade” the area as one of the last steps. This is really just dumping dirt surrounding the pool deck. You will have to pay someone to provide basic smoothing of the surface. Add and actual real grading of the dirt to your project with these guys. Crazy but true.
From what I can tell, this company was purchased a couple years ago, and they don’t seem to have the same reputation as the prior owner. So don’t go by older reviews or personal feedback before that. This is clearly a different company in a bad way.
They have either over bid what they can do without chaos or don’t know how this stuff works at all. I don’t know which it is.
Find someone that will focus on the process and is willing to plan, and you will have far less stress and headache. It’s a very expensive investment and should not be this hard.
